Winemaker Chris Sweetanos Of TWENTY ROWS WINERY At Cleveland Park Wines, Wash. D.C. N.W. Thursday, July 28th, 2005

It was fun to meet Chris Sweetanos the winemaker of the CA. wines TWENTY ROWS Winery on Thursday, July 28th, 2008. It's been more than three years now since his first visit to Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Conn. Ave. N.W. Washington D.C. 2008 Tel : 202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com ) when he came with rep. Brian ( Beth Cover would come in subsequent visits with Chris ) of Potomac Selections. We had never had Chis' wines before that visit and both Mike Martin and I got quite excited about them and bought some pretty much immediately.

Chris went on to make several wines and unfortunately lost his TWENTY ROWS Winery. We currently do not have any of Chris' wines in stock at Cleveland Park but that could change any day. We simply have not tried any of his wines now for more than a year and I will have to call Scott Sherk and ask him the present status of Chris' red CA. wines.

Chris spent some time here in the D.C. metropolitan area and I am fairly sure still returns at least once a year. How are you Chris? You were scheduled to do an in-store wine-tasting and were unable to make it so you still owe us one. Cheers to your past fine efforts and to us reconnecting sometime in the future.

Rep Brian is shown standing back away from Chris in one of the photos.

Enjoy these pictures of Chris in the meantime. As you can see in them that Chris is busy signing the first poster I had made ( front and back ) with signatures from both wine owners and winemakers.

You can see that when you enlarge the picture of Chris studying the poster with all the signatures to find a place for his own signature that it's a bit like the drawings where on has to find Waldo! It's intense. I can see in the lighter blue ink Arya Campbell's name written with the words Laurel Glen just below. Fun stuff! Who's signatures can you all make out?

He also had to sign our guest book, too. It all takes a bit of time. It's how we remember these things years later when memory tends to naturally fade and become sketchy.

Chris, you wrote in the book : " Tony, Thanks for the support. Welcome to the affordable California wines. Keeping having fun and keep educating the public. " Chris then wrote : " Wines You Can Drink Everyday " and " A buck a row ". and he then drew a line around his thumb at the bottom right corner of the page and wrote inside : Chris' Thumb.

Almost two years later Scott Sherk ( president of Potomac Selections 8648 Old Ardmore Road Landover, MD 20785 tel : 301-583-8844 fax: 301-583-8802 www.potomacselections.com ) came to the store with a number of his French winemakers/ owners. They were visiting with Tom Calder who now lives in Paris, France full-time. This is what Scott had to say just before leaving the store. He also wrote in our guest book.

" Another great visit with the surprising Tony Quinn! More shops should take his approach with visiting winemakers '''' Kudos to Tony ". Scott came to the store on March 22, 2007.

Thanks to both you Chris and you Scott for your kind words. I will write more about the wines soon after I call you up Scott and get the " skinny " on them.

It's now 1:10 AM on Saturday morning, November 15th, 2008 as I proof this one last time and finally post it. What a relief! I've still got so many more to finish! TONY
