It's been great to taste so many sparkling wines recently as well as champagnes, too. We are getting ready at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits to host our most popular tasting of the year : our Big-Theme Monthly Tasting on Bubblies/Sparkling Wines and Champagnes from around the World! It starts at 5:30 PM and goes for three hours until 8:30 PM and we have a full house each time! There is no charge so bring a friend or family member and join us. Everybody is welcome.
I started to look at some of the many pictures that I have taken over the last six months involving bubbly inside and outside the store and decided to do a montage of them for you all to enjoy. Some will be featured at our December 3rd, 2008 Bubbly Tasting and some will not : they are store favorites anyway and many of you know and drink them all the time.
When I get time I will include more technical information including names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, vintages and prices. In the meantime enjoy the pictures and get ready for our wonderful end-of-year sparkling wine tasting in the nation's capitol at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue, Washington D.C. 2008 Tel : 202-363-4265 www.clevelanparkwine.com sales@clevelandparkwine.com ask for Mike Martin or me ( Anthony ( Tony ) Quinn ).
It's Saturday morning now at 9:27 AM here at my home and I've got to get ready to go to work to sell lots more wine and other things for these holidays. I hope that you all enjoyed a nice Thursday Thanksgiving meal and are now enjoying this beautiful long weekend.
It's now Sunday morning November 30th, 2008 and I think of all the people that will make the list as tasters/pourers for us on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 ( 5:30-8:30 PM ). I first heard from Francois Hurtel who will pour the bubblies of HEIDSICK-MONOPOLE and POMMERY champagnes. Chris Pigott of Country Vintners will pour the NOCOLAS FEUILLATE champagnes. Roy Cloud, president of Vintage 59 Imports will pour the LILBERT and SOUTIRAN Grand Cru champagnes and introduce a new one, too. Francine Khang of Palm Bay will come and pour three of the GOSSET champagnes, and Jody Jackman our rep for Winebow Imports will pour the PHILIPPONNAT brut rose N.V. brut.
There are more of course. William Davis will pour the Argentinia sparkling wine from ALMA NEGRA and I hope that Jennifer Price of KLUGE Vineyards in Albermarle, VA. will pour the three flavors of KLUGE.
Then there is Tom Morrisey with Republic Wholesalers who will join us to pour the California sparkling wine of Scharfenberger in the Anderson Valley. We've got a whole line-up of true champagnes to be poured as well as many bubblies from around the worls like the " new " Sicilian Blood-Orange pure-pulp mixed with CANELLA'S prosecco t create this fun, exciting more playful " variation on a theme " bubblt from Veneto, Italy.
We hope also to pour some Spanish cavas ( with Tom and with Arielle I believe ), some proseccos, some Italian Franciacorta, some American bubblies, some Aussie sparkling and red Shiraz, too.
I almost forgot to mention that John and Theresa Morrison ( owners of Boutique Imports ) will be on hand to pour a selection of their South African sparkling wines from MORESON ( the Cape Cuvee ), the DIEU DONNE, and the KRONE BOREALIS . There's another, too called " the Rose " which is a dry rose sparkler that's a really great value as well.
And Klaus Wittauer of the Austrian Wittauer selections will pour the " newer " LEO HILLINGER dry brut Pinot Noir rose, as well as two STEININGER dry bubblies : ona a Sauvignon Blanc and one Pinot Noir-Chardonnay traditional champagne blend.

I enjoyed 1n 1994 going to the opening ceremonies of the LOISIUM Museum with Klasu Wittauer and our group from the U.S. Here is a brochure that I got then in 1994. Enjoy, happy Wednesday all, April 29th, 2015, cheers, prost! TONY

And I should not omit that we will have Christian from the Pinnacle House here pouring DOM RIUNART champagnem maybe some VEUVE CLICQUOT and some MOET et CHANDON. I can't remember everything as I type from my home here at 12:02 PM. I left my list at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits.
I do remember that we will also pour with Jody's help an excellent Greek organic bubbly as well as some Cremant du Bourgogne. With Dan Terasa of William Harrison Imports we will aslo pour some more sparkling cremant from Bourgogne : the BAILLY-LAPIERRE I believe.
Anyway, there will be a full assortment and many types and styles, grapes, countries, regions represented on this evening tasting!Cheers, TONY
Here are some of the recent pictures I have taken of our reps here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits tasting us on their " new " releases. Enjoy, TONY
