Wild Turkey Old-Time Master Distiller Jimmy Russell Here Wed. Mid November 2008 At Cleveland Park Wines & Sprits Afternoon Tasting

It's the day before Thanksgiving and I have downloaded these wonderful pictures from a marvelously serendipitous WILD TURKEY ( 1525 Tyrone Road, P.O. Box 180, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 Tel: ( 502 ) 839- 2174   katrina.egbert@pernod-ricard-usa.com )tasting a couple of Wednesdays ago in the afternoon in our store with Jimmy Russell  one of the old-timer master distillers himself. I loved it! Our few customers lucky enough to have been in our store at the time loved it!

And just as importantly our sales reps that came to see me and sell me on their wines loved it, too! This was just too good of an opportunity to let go to waste! This was just too special of an occasion not to make it an even more special occasion!

It was a really quiet time at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel : 202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com ). Ravinder Sharma our spirits expert had told me the day before that this would happen. I should have announced it in the store email that I was typing/composing at the time!

It was mid November Wednesday afternoon. Here walks in this marvelously warm, smiling worn and chiseled man that has spent his whole life making WILD TURKEY and I was thrilled to have him with us in our store in the nation's capitol. Anyway we did have a few customers and I got them to stop and taste as well as inviting those reps here to sell me wines. Everyone sported broad smiles immediately on hearing who was right there in the store! I mean, who doesn't have a WILD TURKEY story to bring a smile to their face and to warm their memories and soften their stern/work-place disposition?!?

It was like a big, special treat for everyone and people circled around and tasted the four open bottles. Some bought, too and that was especially nice.

WILD TURKEY is as American as it gets and tomorrow's an American holiday and so I am rushing this to press so to speak because I want to share it with you all on this eve of Thanksgiving during these trying times when we can all use a bit more positive cheer and spirit ( American in this case ) as we all get ready to enjoy Thanksgiving and count and then say " thanks " for all that we have that enriches our lives so magically, inexplicably, thoroughly, so saturatingly, completely - wonderfully!

It was all so serendipitous! Everyone benefitted just now. The pictures of the bottles of French wine are there - the LAURENT MIGUE southwest France - because our rep with the big grin on her face ( mouth wide open in disbelief! ) tasted me on them just afterwards and they, too are excellent!

Enjoy these pictures and I will add more soon when I have a chance. Happy Thanksgiving to One and to All of Us!!!! TONY
