TONIGHT'S Friday 10/4/13  Evening Wine-Tasting Of FRECCIAROSSA Oltrepo Pavese, ITalian Wines with Mark Congdon &  importer of Artisans & Vines, LLC,Diego Corte himself.

We LOVE these exceptional dry, flavorful, distinct reds and whites made from some fascinating indigenous grapes like the Uvarara red. I LOVE this Uvarara 2010, $18.99, 13.5% alcohol by volume : such poise, finesse, elegance, longevity of a finish, so remarkable in it's style and charm and individual personality. It may be my pick of the lot, especially for this warm weather we are enjoying now in the eighties!

With  Diego and Mark we will taste tonight :

 1)  " Sillery " dry white made from the Pinot Nero grape, $18.99, 13.5% alcohol by volume ( this is how we started and have tasted this now twice here to great success with our customers.

2) " Le Praielle " 2007 Barbera, 13.5% alcohol by volume, $25.99 : medium-to-light body, stylish, fragrant, so much toasty and earthy spice and dried grape, best-with-food dry red. I liked this, too.

ACTUALLY : I liked them all. I enjoyed watching them evolve as they opened and blossomed slowly over a 1-3 day period, as I took home the bits and pieces left in the bottles after the tastings.

3)  ' Giorgio Odero " 2008 Trebicchieri Pinot Nero dry red, $47.99, 14% alcohol by volume. This is their TOP-LEVEl-TOP-FLIGHT wine, and as it opens gracefully it reveals all of it's charms! You cannot rush it, be patient, don't be hurried.  Take your time - you will be rewarded really well.

4) UVARARA dry red 2010 will also be tasted!

GREAT WINES of FRECCIAROSSA in Oltrepo Pavese, ITaly! NO CHARGE to taste, only costs when you buy a bottle. Cheers,  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn  10/4/13   JOIN US : 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 in Cleveland Park. Cheers!
