LAST WEEK we had so many things going on here as we got organized for July and wrapped up June. All good, always thinking of how we can do our jobs better and be more in contact with what you really want and at prices that you can afford by helping you to stretch your dollars.
We have decided to do a J. LOHR Winery, California 2-Part wine-tasting here :
TOMORROW, Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 from 6-8PM with our local rep Ashleigh Sabold as she was free, local and willing to do this wine-tasting of American wines from California, a perfect fit for this occasion. WE will taste a selection from the dry exotic and floral Chardonnay, to the fruity, off-dry Riesling : to the fruity and fresh indigenous red made with the Valdiguie grape variety that is much like a Gamay Beaujolais just thicker and more fruity , to the elegant and refined Pinot Noir, to the fleshy and firm " sleeper " of J. LOHR, their Syrah, to the elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, and the heartier, more angular and food-oriented Merlot. In summary : all the wines display balance and good value, too.
WE HAVE ALSO DECIDED to do a closer-to-home, more-local beer tasting with MAGIC HAT out of Vermont. Renee used to come and she did an excellent job. Remember her with her hat and glasses and always pins and buttons on them? Now we have a " new " young man coming to pour and add his personality to the mix here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits! This way we represent both the East Coast as well as the West Coast. It's hard to plan a local wine-tasting here as everyone is rushed for the 4th of July and many are traveling and many of the local wineries have big events at their vineyards.
WE WILL HAVE TO try and do a tasting soon from the middle somewhere of our country to include a broader range of our magnificent country. There are wonderful products and people coming from each and every of our 50 states!
YESTERDAY WAS CANADA DAY - HAPPY CANADA DAY one-day late! ( I did cover this on our Facebook page at : Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits : WE HAVE many great Canadian customers here and are very thankful for that! YESTERDAY MY WIFE & I treated ourselves to the new French movie called " Renoir " that we both loved in French with English subtitles. It was spectacular on so many levels, and we do highly recommend it. On the visual and the sound level : two of our senses bather in this wonderful artistic period-piece in France's countryside. You should all see it if you love art and France, it's food and wine and other alcohols, too : as they are all covered here beautifully. The sweep in one of the moments of the kitchen table with all the food on it : all the fresh produce, the magnificent colors, the rabbit or the hare, ... see it in preparation after our 4th in anticipation of France's Bastille Day on le 14 Juillet, 2013!
