It's been an amazing series of wonderful events with Rob Gibson ( LOOSE END, GIBSON winery, Barossa, South Australia ), Peter Saturno ( LONGVIEW Vineyard, Adelaide, South Australia ) Nick Stacey ( WEST CAPE HOWE, Denmark, western Australia, introducing VINACEOUS 3 Reds, 1 White, South Australia - featuring " Snake Charmer " Shiraz and " Left Hand " red blend ), and Barbara Lawson ) LAWSON winery, Marlborough, New Zealand ).
We had everyone here pouring their wines on Saturday evening here in the store from 4-8 PM. Liz Mencel and Jeremy Overman were here to lend assistance. The place was jammed. Pictures tell a thousand words and many stories so you will see for yourselves in these pictures that follow!
After dinner Chris Pigott ( our Country Vintner rep - he and I went to see these charming mates in Feb. 2008 ) were invited by the lot to dinner at Chef Geoff's on 14th Street N.W. D.C. afterwards to a marvelous, relaxed dinner.
On Sunday the following day we all went ( minus Barbara, she was too tired ) to an Orioles baseball game at Camden Yards and then I invited them all to enjoy a home meal fixed by my wife and myself in the comfort of our own home. I wanted to repay their extraordinary hospitality when Chris and I went to visit them this past February 2008. We stayed with each of them for about two days and had the times of our lives!
