Part Two, CHATEAU BIANCA/ JEZEBEL White Blend/ RESONANCE White Blend/ KLEE Red Blend & Many More Oregon Wines / Tasting @ CP Wines 5/12/2010
FORTIS wines, too : Regis poured these excellent and inexpensive wines of Oregon as well this Wednesday evening.
CHATEAU BIANCA, ARTISANAL, SPRUCE GOOSE EVERGREEN VINEYARDS, and more were also poured by Theresa Morrison the president along with her husband John Morrison of Boutique Vineyards Imports/Selections. There we thirty-five or more Oregon wines poured this evening! In the picture above Theresa is about to pour some of the CHATEAU BIANCA Pinot Gris, or is it the Riesling?
I am sorry to be getting to these blogs now as these tastings of the Oregon wines took place quite awhile ago and I should have already posted these. I like doing these Big-Theme Wine-Tastings at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel:202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com ) to draw attention to a series or type or area where wines are produced. It's our way to invite lots of our customers to the store for three hours to learn more about certain wines : Oregon wines in this instance.
As these pictures show I hope it was another resounding success for us and we tasted and sold many Oregon wines on this Wednesday evening here in Cleveland Park N.W. Washington D.C. our nation's capitol. Regis of Roanoak Imports in Virginia is pouring some of his excellent and very inexpensive FORTIS wines above. I will have to order more of those as they are ridiculously inexpensive everything considered and I believe that we may already be completely sold-out at this point in time.
Of course it is Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at 8:27 AM here at my home in northern Virginia as I type this finally and get ready to post it later today sometime. Shame on me : simply too many exciting events happening here in Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits for me to keep up with it all. That's still no excuse so I apologize for this as these wholesale resp and owners of wholesale houses ( even owners and wine-makers at times ) give up their valuable time, expertise and samples to be here for these to help us stage these lavish and wonderful productions of wines to entertain, amuse, cajole, surprise, educate and explain more any area or grape or style of wine as the field is now immense and daunting and utterly thrilling, too.
I still have not lost my enthusiasm or passion for wines even 35-40 years into it all! Cheers everyone : I raise a glass to all of us in celebration of wines and us that love them : and especially to Oregon in this case.
Here the JEZEBEL dry lush/opulent white blend is being poured above by Dimitri I believe? It's one we have used for years now, ever since our old rep Charlie brought it to us. Charlie's mother used to love drinking this intriguing and beguiling slightly off-dry at time white blend of grapes from JEZEBEL and with the small production of it I am sure that at time Charlie had to think twice whether to sell us any more or to leave some more for his mother. True Charlie? By the way Charlie Mike Martin and I wish you well in your new endeavours and thank you for the excellent service you gave us in the past bringing us JEZEBEL, CASS and many more.
Here the owner of Nice Legs Imports is pouring some of the slightly off-dry Oregon white blend of the 2008 RESONANCE Vineyard white. It's a blend of 84% Gewurztraminer, 5% Muller Thurgau and 11% Pinot Gris. Selling for $17.99 it showed quite well and it would be marvelous with a lot of the take-out from our local restaurants from Japanese to Thai and Indian and French, Italian, Greek and Vietnamese, too. It would also be really nice to enjoy a glass all by itself in preparation for a lovely meal to soon follow. It's also reasonably-priced and we all love that now don't we? It comes from the Yamhill-Carlton district and is Demetor-certified biodynamic and we love that, too. For more info on it go to : resonancevineyard.com.
Here we have the owner of Nice Legs Imports/Selections pouring the KLEE dry red Bordeaux-style blend that was medium-to-light-bodied with some nice earth , spice subtle accents of tobacco with a bit more rustic flavors that made me think of wines from Europe that really are best when paired with foods as they tend to flesh the wines out more and then together the combination of both can often be amazing/wonderful and even magical, too. I liked this blend for all these reasons and look forward to trying it at home soon with some food. The KLEE Pinot Noir that we also served this evening is soft and silky and velvety and so delicate and whimsical in all it's nuanced and refined flavors that it will be great with salmon and veal and more delicate dishes. It's great to have both at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits.
