We have these bottles here of the ROLAND CHAMPION ( Chouilly, champagne ) in the store that were just reviewed by Dave McKintyre for the Washington Post. The article was about supporting the smaller champagne houses after you check with your local wine merchant. I met owner Carole a few months ago when she came here with rep Mary Leigh of Kysela Pere et Fils imports. We carry both the ROLAND CHAMPION NV ( non-vintage brut ) at $65 and the vintage 2000 at $75 a bottle.
I remember tasting them for or so months ago with Carole and Mary and thinking the quality was both outstanding and the taste thoroughly refreshing, bold and like an orchestra performing at it's peak. Bravo!
Check my first blog about this. Come check them out. I just ordered more to come to our store at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 2008 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com Tel : 202-363-4265 ) tomorrow to be sure we have enough to get us through December and the holidays here in our nation's capitol.
Cheers with bubbly and Chouilly Grand Cru CHAMPION champagne. TONY
