OurS
IS YOURS : We share here pretty much everything! that is what smart
friendly professional honest transparent business should be!
It's
time to give thanks to everyone that helpes here : we have tremendous
support from many of our reps and those are the ones that we work the
most with as it ' takes a village ' to pull this all off.
MO
a colleague was just here that Chris and I have known for many moons
now and he immediately said that the business has changed so much. It
has and yet one things remains the same : you customers need and deserve
good service and we are here for that.
Also
Mo said twice if not three times how good the store looked, how much
he was impressed with it and how it looks, the feel, the whole positive
impression. thanks mo, appreciate the praise.
Mo
also asked how are we doing? My answer was simple : " It is doing as
well as can be expected because we are working for it to do so. "
Without our effort it is not just happening. Like Sigourney Weaver in
the Movie " Working Girld " Says to Melanie Griffith : " Who makes it
happen?!? " and she responds meekly : " I make it happen. " Enough said.
Cheers!

flavor, too, a treat!
3)
Breakfast Gin at 42% alcohol by FEW, On Special for $35.99 ( regularly

like the flavors and can see the correlation here, perhaps a bit later
at brunch in this intense heat and weighing humidity?!? A fine gin.
4)
Dry Spiced Rum made here locally in Washington DC, at COTTON &
REED, some deep tea color, unfiltered, keeping all the flavors in,

Moulin A Vent 2015 ( fine vintage for wine in France ) 100% Gamay
grapes, the heartiest of the Gamay wines, from this Cru town, On Special
for $15.99, I like to chill this an hour, and as it warms slightly and
opens gracefully is when the true magic of this grape and red wine that
is medium-to-light-bodied reveals itself. Do not rush this, take your
time, it will even taste fine the following day. This is best as a food
wine ( buy the Brouilly 2015 On Special for $13.99 if you simply want to

TABLE # ONE Kristin steps in for Robert Kennedy, RWK Imports, All small family Italian wineries - five wines :
1)
Piria Lambrusco di Sorbara spumante sparkling delicate rose from
Alberto Paltrinieri, $14.49 is a delightful start to this flight of five
wines. East strawberry-dried-berry tastes that rove nicely on the
surface of our palates and titillate nicely.
2)
A Frappato dry rose from south eastern Sicily grown in prehistoric
sand, there is a certain taste here that is very unique and has
customers like Gaby waxing poetic over it here in the store many times
with Robert. There is a lovely dried fruit aspect to it that you can
even see in the amber-deep-orange marmalade-blood-orange color?!? The
flavors are as interesting as the color! $21.99 a bottle, 2017 with
13.5% alcohol by volume.
3)
Villa Zappi spumante Rosato Rubicone sparkling rose from Sylvia made
in Emilia, ( named after Zappi that lives there and was one fo the
discoverers of the North Pole ), made I believe with the Sangiovese
Superiore red grape? It is lovely, everyone loves sipping this, soft and
round and bright and not heavy at all on the palate and tongue - a pure
delight all by itself! $18.99 a bottle with 11.5% alcohol by volume,
great color, too.
4)
EstRosa from Marianna Annio's PIETRAVENTOSA Winery in Puglia, Italy,
Murgia, 2016 dry 90% Primitivo dry rose and 10% Aglianico, certified
organic, from the Gioia del Colle region in Puglia, this has a much
darker color and is fuller and with more weight on the palate, it is a
pure delight to sip, too - and anticipate many a warm-weather dish like
some wild salmon would be utterly amazing with this! Maybe a rich persto
dish, too on angel-hair pasta.
5)
Rosanna Brut spumante rose metodo classico from Serghio the owner of
his family's ETTORE GERMANO, $32.99 V.S.Q.R. made from 100% Nebbiolo
grapes, with 12.5% alcohol by volume, here is a serious contender to
rock some bubbly boats and make them drop anchor, take note, taste
again, smile, purr and relax thoroughly. There is some edge, there is a
delineation of flavors, a partition of sensations and all under a
protective canopy of intriguing guises, disguises, surprises! Cheers, a
real winner.
TABLE # TWO ( Christina Caswell of Kysela Pere Et Fils et Fillepours four selections :
1)
Domaine de MUS Pays D'Oc IGP, French Southwest dry blend of 50%
Grenache and 40% Cinsault, with 12.5% alcohol by volume, this is
available both to you in a 750ml bottle , $10.99, and a 3-liter box ,
$22.99. Not heavy, the Grenache gives the mouth feel and the warmth of
alcohol, and the Cinsault gives heft and some muscle and accents that
better define the whole. Nice and really a fine value for parties and
this heat! Elizabeth tells me she likes it and she knows here dry rose
wines! That's enough for me.
2)
La Bulle-Moose de Cigar 2017 Fizzy PINK of the Earth from Randal Grahm
of the Bonny Doon Winery south of the Santa Cruz mountains in
California. This 12 ounce can is a half bottle of wine with 13% alcohol,
a softer dry blend of 57% Grenache, 18% Grenache Blanc, 9% Mourvedre,
6% Roussanne and 5% Carignane - using all five grapes you find in a good
Cotes du Rhone from France, : " La Bulle-Moose is a species of ( moose
) known for its exceptional friendliness, its ebullient personality,
perhaps not so much for its exceptional intelligence or common sense.
But it can sniff out a party. ... " This will be a great counter
measure to the MUS French Pays D'Oc! Easy to take on camping trips and
trips to the movies, too they tell me.
3)
Zweigelt dry red grape making a dry rose sparkling wine by HUGL in
Austria, a non-vintage brut, $13.49 a bottle, this is a delight just to
sip and relax, smile, feel wanted and loved and happy! Cheers.
4)
Tavel southern French Rhone dry Grenache=based rose from SEGRIES,
$17.49 - with a deeper, richer, denser, darker and more opaque color,
this is a dry food rose, one of the two most famous traditionally made
in the world, after the more delicate French Provence rose wines, enjoy
with all your flavorful dishes whether vegetarian or meats, fish, smoked
ot cured or seasoned-well, this will hold its own against many a flavor
in your foods and help give your palate a break to catch your breath,
listen to some conversation before diving right back into a taste of
both your meal and this tasty dry Tavel rose!
