IT HAS BEEN GLORIOUS these past few days and all is well here as we get
ready to enjoy this whole week of good weather and great cheer! WE love the
prospects so far of this week.
HERE ARE THE ' goodies ' that I have found as I walked around the store. I
had to be really selective as there are so many wonderful ' new ' , as well
as ' old ' gems.

1) ST. BERNARDUS Abt 12 Belgian Abbey Ale from the Belgian Family
Brewers, $12.99 a 1 Pt. 9.4Fl.Oz bottle, with 10% alcohol by volume, in
Watou, Belgium. Founded in 1946, West Flanders, : " After the brewing
process these traditional ales are matured in tanks for three months before
being bottle conditioned. The result is a naturally carbonated ' living ale
' , that will satisfy ... ".
2) ST. BERNARDUS Tripel Belgian Abbey Ale from the Belgian Family
Brewers, $13.99, for a 1Pt. 9Fl. Oz bottle, with 8% alcohol by volume, : "
Bringing heavenly nectar within reach." It has a lovely golden pale color
that catches the eye and soon the nose quite quickly, beware, you will be
pleased!
3) ' Ichabod ' Pumpkin Ale & Cinnamon and nutmeg, too from the NEW
HOLLAND Brewing, On Special now for $11.99 a 6-pack of 12-ounce bottles. "
Real pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg enrich this amber brew. Pairings roasted
poultry, root vegetables, peanut sauce and caraway." This has 5.2% alcohol
by volume, what a real treat, the real McCoy!
NEWS FLASH : Just had Estebe of Tradewinds bring Jose V. Canto of Terra
Nostra De Vinos, S.L. from Alcoy, just outside Alicante, visiting to taste
his wines that we already sell here, tasting...
1) EDER Rioja Spanish Rioja, 2014, $13.49 - fresh and bright and as lively
as they come, balanced, too ...
2) ROSSIGNOL De Moragas NV brut that was the best that I have ever had,
never tasted brighter or fresher or more lively, and Jullia from the
Ukraine that came by, tasted as she needed bubbly, Jullia agreed, bought
the bottle at $16.99, and both Jose and I were very pleased indeed, and
then the La Val Albarino white, too was showing beautifully : all three are
solid and showing really well. Come get some today!
heavily-burdened skies that, too have their own burdens and situations to
resolve through a natural course of events. There's a harmony, a sense to
it and we just have to be mindful today as we leave our offices with
umbrellas at the-ready to shield us from such sudden and torrential-like
downpours.
4) ; Trick Or Treat Chocolate Pumpkin Porter, On Special for $10.99,
EVIL GENIUS Beer Company , brewed with Cocoa, Pumpkin and Spices. What a
flavorful, rich and filling treat this is, come try some.
AND IN CIDER we have :
1) Honey and Apple Hard Cider from STRONGBOW, On Special for $9.99 a

here this whole week, perfect for this STRONGBOW.
AND FROM JAGIR & MALKIT we have :
1) Absinthe Superieur from the MT. DEFIANCE Distillery in Middleburg,
VA. I tried this other day with Estebe of Tradewinds Specialty Imports and
I liked it quite a bit, very flavorful and yet very pleasing and subtle,
too, and it does not hit you over the head, rocks you more like with a
breeze outside in a nice hammock. Oh yeah!. $39.99 for a 375ml bottle, with
70% alcohol by volume. Lovely label, too : will make a great gift now as
the weather gets cooler.
2) 100% Tabala The Wild Mountain Maguey DEL MAGUEY Single Village
Mezcal, $125.99, 45% alcohol by volume.
A WONDERFUL THING yesterday, I was at the Winebow portfolio tasting on the

some of this wonderful 100% Tobala, and it was sinfully wonderful, smooth,
rich, bright and vibrant, with so much pure-sunshine warmth and without any
burn, and I loved it. I had more in my glass than I could sip and finish
and so I gave what was left to Kay Mallon that I hope shared it with other
deserving customers. Worth every cent, every dollar, wonderful!
3) Caribbean Cask Extra Matured in Rum Casks Aged 14 Years from THE
BALVENIE Distillery in Banffshire, Scotland, since 1892, single malt Scotch

On Special for $26.49 now, regularly $29.99 a bottle, a lovely buttery
taste of Chardonnay that is full and rich but not heavy and not cloying,
it's a fabulously-smooth flavor that really is so charming and so easy to
drink and enjoy and dream along with! What a treat.
8) Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano from VALDIPIATTA, a 2011, a DOCG with
14.5% alcohol by volume, a dry and refined, very tasty and yet very
silky-tasting blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Canaiolo red grapes, like a
Chianti with the heat, the intensity, the warmth and the substance
turned-up to reach great heights, vistas and panoramas of flavors and
sensations for one's palate and other senses, too! Wonderful,
highly-recommended. Was tasting it yesterday with Miriam at the Kennedy
