wines ...
IT'S THE 2009 ' Vigna Rocca ' Alabana SEcco that he bought a bottle of in April
, 2014 and this is what he has to say about it : " The 2009 is drinking
marvelously and has acquired a really interesting minerality over the last few
years of bottle aging. There are only 4 bottles left here at Cleveland Park,
actually 3 because Tony is saving one for me. The 2013 Vigna Rocca will be in
around mid-August and will certainly be a treat, but with a few years of bottle
aging it will hopefully get to the level that the 2009 is right now. Vittoria
Navacchia of Tre Monti has also purchased an Anphorae from Georgia last year and
is concocting an Albana that will certainly be interesting to say the least.
Hope he actually bottles it and we can get it on the market. Otherwise, we
will have to do what Anthony Bourdain did and pay the Navacchia's a visit in
Emilia Romagna!!

" Washburn Wine Company is now proudly distributing EL BUHO Mezcal to Cleveland
Park liquors, using only 100% Espadin Agave from Oaxaca Mexico. Using a 5th
generation copper potstill. Mezcal is a very exciting and exploding category
within the spirits. Due to its balanced smokiness (mesquite and banana leaf), it
has great applications in mixed cocktails (ie. Moscow Mules, Salty Dog, w/ Giner
beer and lime) or simply on its own. Pick one up and let the El Buho owl fly. "
Rolf was nice enough to write this just now for me as I worked on two meals :
one a more casual one with fried chicken and deviled eggs, green salad ... and
one with feta and watercress salad, halibut and sea beans that are crunchy like
green beans, a tangy sauce with lemongrass, risotto ... fun working on this
order and besides, this is a business where we all swim together so we can all
stay afloat and not sink. I am delighted that these local reps included some
comments here for you all. I will do this more often as I feel it is interesting
and helpful, too. Cheers.

the rfrigerator as well to be opened and tasted during the match. Please let me

style, dry, good mineral and best with a meal - great price, too : overdelivers
for this price!
3) ' Big Hawk ' Premium Sake from Kyoto, Japan, ( $29.99 a 720ml bottle, )
: I LOVED the fullness, the richness, the concentration and the definite
personality of this Junmai Ginjo-Shu sake, loved it!
4) 2012 Chardonnay from DA'DIVAS from LIDIO CARRARO in Brazil's Serra
Guacha region ( $17.99 a bottle, 14% alcohol by volume ) ; made from 100%
Chardonnay grapes, flavorful, full and complex and opens beautifully with time
and becomes quite lush and thick on the palate. Jim loved it and has bought a
case of it and is probably ready for another. I will ask him this weekend when I
see him. He bought a case of the Tannat dry red from Serra Gaucha this past
weekend!
5) 2012 Riesling Kabinett from Germany's Mosel region , from BERNKASTELER

JUST HAPPENED : Wenola just came by asking me of we sold the ANTONOPOULOS Greek
wines? I asked : " Which one? " She responded : " the 2006 , the ' Private
Reserve ' " I said with a big smile ' yes ' and reached for the bottle and
showed it to her where she also smiled. It was recommended to her by her female
waitress at Zaytinya and she loved it and has been oin search of it ever since.
She googled it on line and saw my name and the store's and got here by way first
of at Burka's before realizing she had the wrong store! Wenola which she
believes in an American Indian name bought a bottle just now at $17.99 and I
think we have a new customer. Nice meeting you Wenola! It's amazing wine by the
way and Sotiris and Jason will be pouring it her on Friday, July 25th, 2014 from
5-8PM I believe?
