Thrilled to see our Brazilian wine, the Desejo (100% Merlot) by Salton Harmoniza II on the new wine flight menu at Tel'Veh Wine Bar in DC. Loving the name of the flight also "Guns of the New World"
I took this picture above in a fine restaurant in the town of Bento Goncalves that I went to and enjoyed a fine meal in late June, 2012 with a bottle on the DUNAMIS organic Merlot I believe, or was it a red blend? It was light and fresh and balanced and a perfect foil for what we ate there.
And just today, Monday March 31st, 2014 I am discovering the SUZIN Winery in southern Brazil's highest elevation for grapes and vines : the Sao Joaquim region of Santa Catarina where I am told SUZIN grows the following ... I copied and pasted this , as well as what is above from my Facebook conversations that I am happy to be sharing in my blog format so that more of this might come to light - come to life, and reach a broader audience of those interested in the fine quality of wine that is currently being made in Brazil in the six or so regions where grapes are grown ( with the possibility of up to three harvests in a year in certain regions I am told - definitely two ), but that are sadly not available in many markets outside Brazil yet. Some is available in the United States like the RIO/SOL, SALTON, CASA VALDUGA, MIOLO and LIDIO CARRARO, DON GUERINO and a couple of others, but there is hardly any talk of any of this yet. I / we hope to change that with posts like these. Join us, let's all " MAKE SOME BIG NOISE " for the excellent wines of Brazil!
I will continue to add to this, it will be a ' work in progress ' of mine. Please fell free to comment here. Let's all be heard here in the United States, in England and China, Germany and all the regions of the world where wine is enjoyed! Cheers, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 3/31/2014
Obregado Rogerio ( Gomes ) para tudos! Let's work closely together here. TONY
