It was a great tasting Ron! Thanks, what a treat, and to try the Celebration CIDERWORKS Hard Apple cider from Jefferson, Maryland that you had infused with some cranberries and bottled this morning ( $19.99, 7% alcohol by volume ) was a real treat that everyone loved! Thanks for coming and sharing your stories, three thousand apple trees in your orchard, an hour's drive from D.C. north up 270 to Frederick, Maryland and then another ten miles to Burkitsville is it?!? Self-guided tours, the small " Lady " apples - that date back to Roman times - that you brought that I cut up and offered to our customers as you poured, tasty, what a grand treat : loved it. Happy weekend everyone. Cheers, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 11/16/13
I wrote this to Bartholomew Broadbent on a post he made with pictures of his sister's apples stored in their shed-barn that they grow themselves. Nice. Cheers, TONY
I just brought some home from our Saturday tasting with Ron Miller the owner of DISTILERY LANE CIDERWORKS in Jefferson, Maryland Bartholomew. He did an in-store cider-tasting of six or so of his local ciders that included his Celebation, his Celkebration with some cranberry juice added and just bottled that morning, as well as some Black Bourbon cider that was aged in bourbon barrels, and more. They have forty varieties, thirty that produce enough for them to do something with, the others for research to see what might be? Anyway, he brought a lovely basket filled with some of them and I sliced up the " Lady " small apples and gave them out as he poured so people could taste the apples, too. Everyone loved them. It was a big hit and we sold lots of cider. I brought many apples home and the two really large ones that are larger than I have ever seen my wife last night made into an apple struddel that we enjoyed with our daughter. What fun! Thanks Ron for the apples, thanks Bartholomew for these delightful pictures. I hope to eat ours before they go bad : happy Thanksgiving to you all! TONY 11/18/ 13
