Discovering In Late 2013 The Really Fine Wines Of The SHVO Vineyards in Upper Galilee, Israel That Are Dry, Complex, Flavorful, memorable, Balanced & A REal Treat Even Though They Are Not Kosher : Well-Worth Looking For & Experiencing : Put Them On Your Bucket List!






WE HAVE ( @ Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits here in Northwest Washington D.C., 20008 - THE ' Happenin' Neighborhood ' for arts, culture, arts, food and wine and MORE )  from the SHVO Vineyards the 2010 Chenin Blanc, $36.99, 14% alcohol by volume, from the Upper Galilee, a non-kosher Israeli wine that , in my opinion is ' world class! ' I loved it! Marvelous, worth making the effort to come and get here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits , 3423 Conn. Ave. N.W. 20008, Washington D.C. WE will do a tasting of it soon with the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, $30.99, 13.5% alcohol by volume ; and the dry red 201, 36.99, 14.5% alcohol by volume. ALL 3 are highly recommended : balanced, flavorful and distinct.

The Shvo vineyard is almost 10 hectares, and currently around 8 of these are in production. The varieties grown include Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Barbera and Mourvèdre. He works sustainably with no herbicides, and uses compost. Altitude here is around 800 metres, which moderates the temperature.
