SCRAMBLING as always but am happy to feel some order withing
seeming world disorder. Maybe that is the order of the day :
stay-focused, do not lose sight, purpose, intent, schedules and activity
that results in more success and positive vibes as we need , all of us ,
to stay as happy and as focused, and as purposeful as we possibly can
as so many things like mid-term elections loom and effect us so. VOTE -
that is the message, be heard, not herded, be there to have your voice
and your vote make the difference you want.
AS MICHELE OBAMA siad : " I don't care who you vote for, just vote. "
ON THE TODAY SHOW ( Channel 4 working 4 you ) I get some news and
some information about all that is happening around us. For that I am
thankful, it is not a lot, but it is enough for me to decipher as I try
and march forward in ways that both help me and those around me. Yes I
care about those around me, always have, always will.
ON THE TODAY SHOW Carson Daly was talking about those things that
bring us pleasure and make us happy, the small things, and that usually
the average for all of us that there are two things in a day that bring
that happiness and joy to us - for each of us it is two different
things. I like that. I also like to think that there are up to five
things that bring me joy and happiness each day.
- being alive
- feeling blessed to be aware of my environment
- being outside in my garden and walking our dog
- my family and loved ones of course!
- my art in all it's forms
- conversation and being able to complement others and make them smile and laugh
- sharing my stories and insights
- looking at life with hope and a positive outlook, that things will be okay
- shoving fear and stress and bad vibes as far away from me as I can
- facing my obstacles front-on, whatever they may be,
- crossing things off my to-do list
- giving the gift of my art in portraits I quickly make of people when we meet as my ' thank you ' gifts to them
These are just a few of the things that ...
What are yours?
I JUST HAD A SMILE PUT on my face with Nicholas Lewis our ' new '
rep of @DistrictDistillingCO that tasted me on the #Checkerbark
#BarrelRestedAmericanDryGin , $41.99, with 47.1% alcohol by volume, made
here right in Washington DC , Northwest, at the corner of U and 14th
Streets, a fine #localdistillery, that is #notinIvyCity , ...
made by @MattStrickland #masterdistiller. I like how subtle,
smooth, gentle and refreshing it tastes. It has a beautiful color, and
this gin in unique, and Matt add three things :
1) Oris root that we believe comes from lillies, and
2) orange peel , and
3) coriander.
I like it quite a lot, and have asked for Nicholas to reach out to
Matt and get him to come again and do a tasting here. That will be
nice! More info as we get it, stay-tuned!
I STILL HAVE some to sample you on if you read this and ask me. Cheers, great job Matt!
THE OTHER THING that put a big smile on my face is the mention of
this on the Today Show that this Thursday , October 11th, is
International Girls' Day. I like this, this is marvelous and something
important to acknowledge, celebrate, honor, give thanks to, appreciate, -
very special, very necessary.
SOMETHING WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT and do all that we can for these
girls all over the world that need to have a fighting chance, an
education, a good home, love and instruction and purpose, and us that
guide them, congratulate them, help them to stay focused, to let them
know that they, too have every right to reach for the stars and the moon
- that they belong to all of us and not just boys and the lucky,
privileged few.
I JUST SAW SANDY on the sidewalk a few minutes ago and told her
about this and she asked : " How come you are the only one that knows
about this? " My answer : " Am I ?!? " Then let's change that!
