1) Original J.P> CHENET blanc de blancs brut, $3.99 a bottle - dry and tasty, bright and pleasing.

2) Original J.P. CHENET frais et fruite off-dry rose sparkling, $3.99 a bottle, easy to sip with or without food, but you have to like the soft, rounded, pleasing fruity taste here. ALSO : Santos and Jagir have organized a tasting of our fine local spirits made right here in Ivy City, Washington DC from Republic Restoratives! That includes Bourbon, Rye and Vodka!

SATURDAY, July 14th, 2018 ( 2-6PM ) : We have Eric Garcia here from Tradewinds Specialty imports here to taste some fine Spanish wines. AND from 10am-2PM we have Adriene here from 5 Grapes Selections to help you with wines and spirits, and to taste something French, too to celebrate Bastille Day!

ERIC will taste some sparkling brut cava BOHIGAS , $16.49 a bottle, from Spain, some sherry, some organic dry Chardonnay and also some red organic red from FINCA FABIAN, also some wonderful dry Spanish rose that comes both in the 750ml bottle and a 3-liter box, and some Ribera del Duero crianza from MIBAL, a 2014 100% Tempranillo Hornillos Ballesteros, $25.49 that pretty much blew me away for the character, focus, flesh and fragrance, yes si si si si!

ALSO we will reprise our excellent tasting last month of ILEGAL Mezcal - three types from blanco to Reposado and Anejo - loved them all, sold them all, they rock, loved the silver and the Reposado the most - that is just me. Cheers!

FRIDAY, July 20th, 2018 ( 5-8PM ) : We have Amy from the Vinicola SALTON winery here in the Valle dos Vinedos , Bento Goncalves, pouring some excellent brut Intenso espumante, some tasty Intenso Cabernet Franc, $14.49 ( we might be able to seel it for $13.49 depending if they are running a deal on it? ), and the Classic Chardonnay, too, $13.49, that really impressed me the other day here when we tasted it - FINE bright lively and balanced unoaked Chardonnay!

AND From Santos : he has organized a ONE EIGHT Distilling local Ivy City , Washington DC, spirits tasting of Bourbon, whisky and gin. JOIN US.

SATURDAY, July 28th, 2018 : Santos has organized another LEBLON cachaca Brazilian rum tasting here from 4-7PM.

OUR Mini- Big-Theme- Wed. July 25th, Celebration of Both Days Of Independence & Great Countries - yes, si, oui, -

TABLE Number ONE ( Danielle Davidowitz of Dionysos Imports here pouring four really FABulous Greek wines -

1) From CAVINO their higher-end MEGA SPILEO Moschato, from Greece's Penepolese Peninsula, I absolutely LOVED the bouquet - it leterally blew me away, adored the challenging bouquet, and the flavors followed right behind, a very fine dry , bright, balanced and fruit-centered dry white that fascinates me and intrigues me on many levels, at a great value here, ridiculous price!

2) Paros White , a dry Malvasia not barrel-aged, $16.49, from the MORAITIS winery on the mainland not far from Athens, this white also is extremely fun, dexterous, smacks your palate around, pulls you close, releases it, smiles, smirks, cares without really caring, knowing that it is exactly what is meant to be and that maybe, just maybe we will understand at some point, appreciate, and realize how wonderful these wines are when combined with food as once they were all made to do, way back when. 100% Malvasia. Fine food wine.

3) Averoff dry red blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignnon and 30% Agiorgitiko , from STROFILIA Winery : amazing character, flesh, flank, form yet soft, inviting yet edgy, for $16.49 this dry red weaves circles around your tongue and simply does not let it rest until later after you swallow and think you momentarily doze and are shaken awake and your senses all tell you : " sip again already! " A treat.

4) Black Kalavarta, $11.99 a bottle, made from a largely extinct red grape variety by the TETRAMYTHOS Winery in the Penepolese peninsula. It is largely unlike any other wine you will have tried - everything it offers it does in an original, flavorful, hearty, heady, spicy, flame-fire-free-flow-flash way that needs to be chilled and enjoyed with equally pagan, savage natural, untamde foods that dance and tread and satirize, inflame, and challenge our palates and every fiber in our being! Tread strongly, hold your position, do not go gentle into this liquid-swallow-good-great-mmmmm-night! As Ioannis of Dionysos Imports put it, he believed so strongly in this wine and everyone else is getting onto his bandwagon and following happily now.
