This was a fabulous day for me and I was already all excited about going off to meet Jancis Robinson for the very first time at the Smithsonian Associates' function of the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum, a 3-Part event with a conversation, a buying and book signing, and then a wine-tasting with owners and winemakers from U.S. states like Colorado, Michigan, Virginia, New York, Texas and California, too! ...
Michel had told me that we would be trying some wines from France offered by International Cellars and that the word was that these were exceptional wines and well-worth our trouble to taste. I put that idea on hold and continued my day. When Yves Cuilleron arrived late I had by then completely forgotten this as I was still wrapping myself around the idea of finally meeting British female wine-writer Jancis Robinson! ... ...

Well, I was surprised and pleased and I became more and more and more excited as I tasted these wines made at the cooperative effort of three vigneron including Yves Cuilleron of the LES VINS DE VIENNE Cuilleron/ Villard / Gaillard ( www.lesvinsdevienne.fr / cave@cuilleron.com et www.cuilleron.com ). The more I tasted the more I recognized how unique, flavorful, distinct, true to grape and region and soil and climate and everything " terroir " that these wines were. Stunning! Michel Dumas looked at each other and pretty much bought everything except for the simple red and white Cotes Du Rhone that were not simple at all, just the least interesting of this group of 13 French red and white Rhone wines that we had just thoroughly enjoyed tasting. I have already blogged about this here at : chatwine.blogspot.com. Check that blog out as well. AND, we have many of the wines now on our shelves and floor-stacked at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits for you all to come and buy and discover for your very own selves! What an opportunity, what an amazing array of fine French Rhones to luxuriate all your senses completely in.
