Snow In Cleveland Park, Washington D.C. On Tuesday, February 9th, 2010: We Are Open, Come Buy Some Wine=Beer-Liquor & More! Cheers...

It's crazy : who could have guessed? Friday, Feb. 5th & Tues. Feb. 9th, 2010 here in Cleveland Park : evening & day-snow ...

I will add to these photos. it's been a crazy time and our customers keep coming in all of this for wine, beer, liquor, liqueurs, sodas, water and more ... TONY

It's fun to record this all with these pictures and here it is now Wednesday, February 11th, 2010 and I will have to add some of the pictures that I took earlier here inside and outside the store as both wind and snow are driven madly in sheet upon sheet of cold snow that once it hits the face and skin melts almost immediately! It started again last night around 5 Pm and has snowed all through the night and will snow a lot of today and then stop with more piles and mounds and drifts of snow and ice and cold to deal with and dig out of ... cheers, ... it sure is beautiful and you, our faithful Cleveland Park customers continue to come and buy and buy and buy more even with all the snow and bad weather conditions. Thanks, we appreciate it. That's why we are open even in these bad weather conditions when it is wise to be at home and not drive and make ourselves some warm drinks, serve some good wine, chill and take comfort in all the mad, serene beauty of winter's wonderland pushing at our doors and tapping/slapping our windows, too...    TONY

P.S. The good news : we are a bit low on beer and sake and port but have lots of wine and bubbly of all kinds in all price brackets! .... and we are open now at 12:43 PM here in our nation's capitol ready to serve you and all your stir-crazy/tired of being closed-in moods!  ...

This is a picture in Washington D.C. perhaps on the Rock Creek Parkway, Friday, February 5th, 2010 after 8 PM as I wound my way home to Annandale, Virginia being chased by all the volumes of snow that was coming ... I like it, the picture. I did make it home safely, too and enjoyed three glorious days at home with bubbly and wine : real grand cru champagne from Bobby Kacher Selection : L'Amabilie and the Domaine D' Ardhuy 2004 white burgundy from Puligny Montrachet that we sell here for $50 a bottle. Both were incredible and I only wish that I had more bottles to enjoy of both ...

Art in motion and contrast of forms, textures, lights and darks, black and whites ... night and day ...

How about some POMMERY champagne or some HEIDSIECK MONOPOLE N.V. brut anyone? We also have some semis-sec, too ...

Take in a movie on the last " bis screen " at the Uptown movie theatre and then come see us for some of whatever you need at home to enjoy as the snow continues to fall and fall and fall some more .... more than ever before here in a very long time in Washington D.C. and the surrounding areas ...

What a welcoming store-front here! Come on in! Don't be shy : we have a bit of everything - something for everyone is my motto ... as we have customers from around the world that shop here in Cleveland Park N.W. Washington D.C. ....

It was so cold on this evening's drive home and I had no idea exactly what would turn out here on film as I pointed quickly and snapped quickly ... more than I ever thought, actually. This Canon Power Shot SD790 IS digital ELPH camera takes some really great pictures. I'm impressed, really I am and have faith in it. Of course I get what I get and most times it's quite interesting ...

The Beaujolais Nouveau 2009 was really very good this year and we sold it well. Prices had dropped, too from last year and that helped the sales. The regular 2009 bottling of the cru ( Morgon, Julienas, Moulin-A-Vent, Fleurie, etc ... ) and the regular beaujolais and beaujolais-villages wines will be excellent when they start to appear on our shelves soon ...

This mound of snow in the picture above is already covered up today and hardly noticeable now at 1 PM on Wednesday afternoon here as the snow continues to howl in a silent uncontrollable manner ..

These tire tracks are all snowed-over and very slushy and of course growing bigger - a lovely snowy messy shades of all whites time here in Cleveland Park ...

Always nice to close with bubbly in plain sight and on-mind and hopefully, with some with us to enjoy as we celebrate Nature and sleeping vines that will again with the warmth and the sun will awaken and flower and bloom and where the tiny nodule buds will open and ripen into many grapes to make more wines and bubblies .... ahhh yes, this all seems and is so very right! I am enjoying now the last pages of my Julia Child book as she writes about here time in France starting in 1946 and up until 1072 - so very enthralling and inspiring! ....
