Drinking CHARLES ORBAN N.V. Brut Champagne Dry Rose From Troissy, France On Monday Night, 1/18/10 : Martin Luther King Day : Cheers!

This was quite the celebration of two great events : one being of course Martin Luther King Day ( Monday, January 18th, 2010 ) and the other being the eve of our daughter's first official job. So as we helped her prepare for her job that starts today we enjoyed two types of goat's cheese and crackers as well as this excellent bottle of the CHARLES ORBAN N.V. Brut dry rose champagne from France's Troissy region that I just discovered recently in the last six months or so.

It really impressed me this time, more than the first. It has had some time to settle down from the trip from Troissy here to Washington D.C. and all the flavors and textures and layers of nuanced tastes have rounded and brightened and fleshed out so beautifully that it both fills and settles over the palate in the most delightful manner. I enjoyed each sip and anticipated with pleasure the next as I served the three of us some of the goat's cheese that was plain and some with herbs.

Dinner was almost ready and this was our way of getting relaxed before our meal with our son that would join us when dinner was on the table. It was a nice family time and the CHARLES ORBAN was a big hit and contributed to our evening in a big way.

By the way the CHARLES ORBAN is an " RM " which means " recoltant-manipulant " and which helps to ensure the highest quality possible as they both own and harvest and use only those grapes that they do own to produce CHARLES ORBAN : thus giving them full control over what they produce.

We have some On Sale now at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel : 202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com ) for $47.99 and you should come and get some ASAP.

A la prochaine fois, TONY

Here are some artsy photos that I took with a drop still in the bottle downstairs here in our basement by our computer. Cheers, TONY
