Adolfo Basso, Son Of Carlos Basso ( CARLOS BASSO ), Mendoza, Argentina Here @ Cleveland Park W/ Vanessa Latimer ( Southern Wine Group) Friday, 9/12/09

Pictured here up to this point is Adolfo with his two fancier wines : the red and the sweet white. I will add more as time permits. Enjoy these pictures in the meantime because they, too tell a story. Cheers ...

It was great to meet ~Adolfo Basso ( Kic. en Enologia adolfbasso@carlosbasso.com ) Finca la Amalia S.A. - San Martin 7440 - Carrodilla M5505FOO Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoaza, Argentina Tel 54 261 436-0677 /436-0363 www.carlosbasso.com ) son of Carlos Basso of his own Mendoza winery here to taste me on five of his family's wines : two of which are already here and ready for us to purchase from Constantine Imports. With Adolfo was our rep Vanessa Latimer ( we were meeting today for the first time ) from Southern Wine Group ( www.southernwinegroup.com vanessa@southernwinegroup.com ).

I really liked the wines and found them balanced and very approachable, especially the white. The two reds I felt could use a bit more time ( perhaps another eight months or more before being released and drunk - the middles of the wines were still a bit undeveloped and not as clear or open as I would like and appreciate more ). We will buy the red blend anyway as it will taste really nice with a meal. The white can be enjoyed with or without a meal and is drinking/ showing beautifully now : brimming with brightness , freshness, charm and good balance of all components. No need to wait with this white. Cheers Adolfo and hast luego...

Enjoy these pictures. I will continue to add them as well as write more about the wines and this special moment that the three of us shared this rainy Friday morning here in Cleveland Park , Washington D.C. N.W. on the 12th of Sptember, 2009. TONY
