Saturday Raining In Cleveland Park, 8/22/09 : INO, CASTILLO Del CONDE, COPPO Chard,'06, DOM. Des GRAVALOUS Cahors '05

This was a fun afternoon here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits here in our nation's capitol as it rained cats and dogs and everyone scurried/hurried around covered by umbrellas outside and protected here inside.

We sampled the two southeastern Australia wines of Mark Davidson : the white Chardonnay/Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc and the Shiraz ( both $12.49 ) as well as the ENTREMONTES La Mancha Old-Vines Tempranillo 2004 ( great year ) from Spain ( only $9.99 - a great deal ), and the " Native " Portuguese white dry blend 2008 of Chardonnay and Arinto ( both 50% each ), from Tejo, $9.99 ).

All four of these wines sold really well all through the afternoon as it has rained all day.

As you can see from our customers we sold bottles of the INO Semi Sweet Greek red off-dry blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache ( $11.99 ) as well as the 2006 off-dry semi sweet Spanish wine from Valencia called CASTILLO Del CONDE ( $11.99 ).

We also sold a bottle of the 2005 DOMAINE Des GRAVALOUS ( $13.99 ) dry red Cahors ( 90% Malbec, 10% Merlot I believe ) that also sells really well here.

We also sold some more of Paolo Coppo's excellent Piemonte Chardonnay Costebianche " 2006, $19.99 that is such a fine food wine. It will hold it's own against many a well-seasoned ( even spicy, hot ) meal. It's called COPPO.

Enjoy these pictures. I might write more later.

Across the street a new movie just opened from Tarantino that some of our customers were walking acroos to see at the 7 PM showing.

Never a dull moment here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits.

Cheers, TONY
