THE WHOLE STORE is  set up to serve you with this warm weather whether it rains
or shines outside, we have something for you all. Every week I walk our aisles
and am always amazed that there is something " really new and exciting " from
both Ravi ( liquor ) and Santos ( beer ). How could there be so much? We are
getting so much variety and category, country and style and that is really
exciting for you all. You , like us, just have to figure a way to keep up with
it all. That means finding out what is " hip and current ", " trendy and really
new " , purchasing what looks the most exciting and then finding the time to
try these " new " things out. It's exciting, it's a true challenge with many
great rewards in sight for you all.

I HAVE ALREADY TALKED about and included many of the canned beers that are
available to you all. This used to be true only with the most commercial of
beers for so many years and then DALE'S came along and started to change all of
that leading to the D.C. BRAU beers that are our very own from Washington D.C.
We always have several of the DALE'S available for you all as well as we have
another drop of the D.C. BRAU coming this week as we mostly sold out last week.
I have also mentioned the many canned beers that we get from Hawaii and that is
exciting and I have seen a fair number of them on our counter up front being
purchased. I feel that we will only continue to add to all these canned beers
so always be sure and ask Santos. They claim that they are easier to chill
quickly, lighter to carry when you travel and of course less to break or go
wrong in bigger crowds.

CANNED BEER :

1) Blanche De Bruxelles . White Beer ( Biere blanche, wit bier, weiss
bier, cerveza blanc, benoe nnbo, buzasor - $7.99 a 4-pack of cans, 500ml, 1 Pt.
.5Fl. Oz, www.brasserielefebre.be ) from Belgium is new and is wrapped in
plastic for east transport and enjoyment when you get to wherever you are
going. Great summer and warm weather colors, too with white, sky blues and deep
sunshine yellows.

LIQUEURS - New & Old -

TRADITIONAL CATEGORIES like KAHLUA , BAILEYS, and LIMONCELLO are all abuzz with
" new " flavors, too. I just wrote up one last week for KAHLUA with peppermint
I believe? BAILEYS has had the " mint " and the " caramel ". Now  we wait
awhile and it's anyone's guess when the " new " flavor of theirs will be
available? We might not know when but rest-assured that we will have another
flavor, perhaps this fall instead of this summer? I don't want to risk a guess
on that as the whole world of liquid refreshments is exploding with more and
more choices and varieties.

THIS MORNING I believe for the second time the VILLA MASSA Liqueur LIQUORANGE
of Sorrento ( On Special for $22.99, 750ml, 30% alcohol by volume ) that is a
variation on the theme of their Limoncello that started off the whole
Limoncello revolution here in the United States that seems now like a very,
very, very long time ago. Some of you still make your own and many of you still
buy the VILLA MASSA. Here you have a fun variation to play around as the warm
weather and the humidity are with us off-and-on these days.

IT WAS A BIT OF A MELTDOWN here the past two weeks as you all kept coming by
and asking for the APEROL Aperitivo liqueur ( $21.99, original recipe since
1919, Fratelli BARBIERI, 11% alcohol by volume) is based on an infusion of
selected herbs and roots. A popular recipe : Aperol Spritz : ice cubes, slice
of orange, 3-parts Prosecco ( or any other dry sparkling wine ), 2-parts APEROL
and 1-splash of soda. People were a bit distraught and we are happy to tell you
that APEROL is back once again and we bought a lot to be sure we do not sell
out so quickly!

this as many of you have asked us now for it for years.

2) " Tierras " TEQUILA Autentico de Jalisco " Anejo "  from 100% Agave( On
Special for $39.99 a bottle, 40% alcohol by volume, Mexico ) is really good and
it's also made from organic agave plants. Made from Blue Agave in small batches
and as smooth as it ever comes. We had it open here last year and proceeded to
sell through it and the Reposado and the Silver several times over and it's
great to have them all back here again.

WINES:

WHITE :

1) Sauvignon Blanc and ALSO : Chardonnay, 2010 from GATO NEGRO ( BOTH are
On Special for $5.99, Valle Central, 13% alcohol by volume, ) from Chile have
been around for a very long time and we thought we would offer them once again
to you all for casual, easy-drinking wines to enjoy with this heat and
humidity. They are very pleasant and the price is also very easy on all of our
wallets. Come and enjoy them all over again. They also come in many reds
flavors, too from Cabernet, Carmenere, Merlot, and  Shiraz.

ROSE :

1) DOMAINE DE MOULINES " Les Cigales " 2011 ( $10.99 , 12.5% alcohol  by
volume ) is a nice crisp and refreshing dry rose that we are thrilled to sell
here and it was a bonus to discover it written up in the Washington Post
newspaper last Wednesday. Great deep wild Sockeye salmon color, too!

2) KNIPSER " Clairette " 2010 dry trocken rose ( $26.99, 11% alcohol by
volume,, Laumersheim, Pfalz ,  www.magellanwineimports.com ) is made from 1005
Pinot Noir and has weight, substance, character and was I believe the very
favorite tasted this weekend by Chris Bartha when we tasted dry roses for
Mother's Day. Lovely.

3) CHATEAU ROUBINE 2011  " Cru Classe " Cotes De Provence ( $19.99, 12.5%
alcohol by volume , www.chateaurubine.com ) is a delight to drink. So much
elegance, refinement and finesse and bright rose sunshine taste. Made by
Valerie Rousselle that is the owner and the harvester and the wine is made from
their own grapes and not purchased. It showed beautifully this past Saturday
and everyone loved it and many bought it, too.

4) GRAF V. SCHONBORN 2011 dry Pinot Noir rose ( On Special for $19.99,
11.5% alcohol by volume, Volkach, Germany, www.schoenborn.de ) has got really
lively, brisk high levels of acidity and a deep rose color and will complement
many a meal. It is best when served with food : salads, tapas, many hot weather
meals.

5) " Pink " 2011 dry rose from SCHLOSS SCHONBORN VDP 100% Pinot Noir ( On
Special for $19.99, 11.5% alcohol by volume , Hattenheim, Germany ,
www.schoenborn.de ) is lovely : softer, more mouth-pleasing, fuller and
smoother on the palate. I loved it, really I did. It shows really well with
food. Love the deep rose color and mostly just love the way that it tastes.
It's a beauty any way that you cut it.

REDS :

1) Pinot Noir 2009 Pinot Noir from Oregon's FIRESTEED Vineyard ( $14.99,
www.firesteed.com, 12.7% alcohol by volume, Rickreall, Oregon ) is light and
bright and refreshing and a real treat to enjoy all by itself and certainly
with most meals, even with this heat and bouts of humidity that come and go
depending. Great value, too. We are happy to have it back again.

2) Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 " Coleccion Privada " from NAVARRO CORREAS in
Mendoza, Argentina, www.ncorreas.com is On Special for $9.99. We are almost
sold out once again. Come get some while you still can. It was once the measure
by which all great Argentinian Cabs were judged by. If it was approaching the
quality of a Coleccion Privada then it was something to take seriously. Here we
have a really tasty, flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina and you should
all sample it all over again : especially when it's at this great value.

Mother's Day this Sunday, some thoughts ...

TIME TO FOCUS and try and do something that she would really appreciate no
matter what her age may be? Try and do something really special that makes her
smile and realize that you are trying with this symbolic gesture to return some
of the extraordinary love and time and nurturing that she has given you all,
that still probably continues to give you to this day.

IN TODAY'S DAY and age we are still often very close and that's in both
sentiment and feelings and in distance from where she lives. For many of us
it's short drive, for others a plane or train ticket, a car ride ( I am in that
category - and I look forward to making the drive this weekend ).

SPEND SOME ACTUAL TIME TOGETHER and make her day easier with whatever tasks she
normally does daily for all of you.

DON'T FORGET : Mother's Day is right around the corner and we have the store
filled with many gift " ideas " for you all. That's such a special day and so
we have some lovely liquid libations to consider when adding to your chocolates
and other sweets, flowers, clothes, shoes, whatever. We even have some
excellent California olive oil made with three Spanish olives by our very own
Cleveland Park resident, neighbor and friend, Bill Sanders.

Bill's FIRST FRESH Extra Virgin olive oil ( $18.99, 500ml bottle ) has also
sold-out once a couple of months ago when Bill with Jody Jackman sold out
everything here in the store. Luckily it is back once again in time for
Mother's Day. We also have some of Bailey Kasten's lovely D.C.-made chocolates

CLOUDY TODAY and yet what promise of sunshine and so many warm-weather beers,
liquors and wines. The possibilities seem endless today as there is now French
Cotton Candy-flavored vodka, watermellon vodka, too just to name a few. I for
got to mention the " new " smoked salmon vodka we just tried from Alaska. In my
hands I have a bottle of the " new " SMIRNOFF " Fluffed " Marshmallow-flavored

sky's the limit it seems as everyone is mixing and trying about everything
imaginable here on earth!

THE ARTICLE in the Washington Post last Wednesday by Dave McIntyre spoke of and
quoted Randal Grahm of the BONNY DOON California winery as he lists now on his
bottles all that he adds and that are included with the grape to make wine
today. Everyone interested in having and real inkling of what they are drinking
should get a copy of that article or search for it online ( Wed. May 2nd, 2012
) and read it. We have a copy here and will be happy to share it with you. We
might even post a copy here in the store. It's quite shocking.

OUR JAQK CELLARS wine-tasting this past Friday, May 4th, 2012 ( 5-8PM ) with
David Dees ( one of the three owners , that signed many bottles ) was a grand
success. The eight wines , mostly from Napa, California really showed well. I
was impressed and I am often quite hard on California wines. I was happy to say
that I found all the wines to be balanced and fruit-forward and really quite
special. As is always the case some more special for me than others. It was fun
to see the customers reactions. It was our biggest tasting ever and about half
of the people here were new to us, many from the Junior League from all that I
could gather.

WE SOLD A LOT Of JAQK CELLARS and still have lots here for you all to take
advantage of. I asked David to sign some of the bottles so some are still
signed and here for gifts like Mother's Day that is Sunday, May 13th, 2012 just
in case any of you need reminding of that. I will include some descriptions
here of the wines as we go along.

1) Comandon Cognac VS Since 1821 ( On Special for $19.99 ) flew out the
door a couple of months ago and we are thrilled to have some back as it was
such a great success. It's packaged in cork wrapping paper and looks great for
a gift for Mother's Day.

2) CRAGGANMORE 12 Year-Old Scotch Whisky Single Speyside Malt ( On Special
for $49.99 , 40% alcohol by volume, from Banfshire, Scotland ) is a great
classic and we just want to remind you all of this fact. It's been around a
long time and deserves to be tried once again as if for " the very first time
".

3) KRAHN Gin ( $32.99, 100% neutral grain spirits, product of USA,
www.dhkrahn.com ) is distilled by DH Krahn Spirits in Mountain View, California
and is really  " new and exciting "!
4) Pina Colada from the SKINNY GIRL ( On Special for $12.99, 19.9 Proof,

" hot " SKINNY GIRL drinks available recently to us. Sold like hot cakes this

Dry WHITES :

1) " Charmed " Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2010 from JAQK CELLARS (
$29.99, www.jaqkcellars.com,  13.9% alcohol by volume ) was tasted here this
past Friday night and everyone loved the " touch " of oak that it received to
give it just a hint and a kiss of extra body and flesh and flavor. It's pretty
lovely with or without food and the label cries " fun and excitement ". It's a
great pleasure any way you cut it.

2) Sauvignon Blanc 2010 from New Zealand's Marlborough region from MOHUA (
$15.99, www.vineyardbrands.com, 13% alcohol by volume ) is based around both
style and fruit freshness. I get guava and lime in the bouquet and that's on
top of both nectarine and grapefruit on the palate. Wow, now that's exciting!
Cheers.

3) " Ship Of Fools " 2010 white blend combining the " Pinot Family " of
grapes from the OLD MISSION PENINSULA  ( $18.99 , Michigan, www.cgtwines.com,
231-223-7355 ) is a blend of 50% Pinot Blanc, 45% Pinot Gris and 5% Pinot Noir.
This is a fabulous dry, crisp white : Blanc for finesse, Gris for structure and
Noir for bouquet and ageability! Cheers.

Dry ROSES :

4) " Dry French Rose " Tradition De Campuget " 2011 from the CHATEAU De
CAMPUGET, Costieres de Nimes, estate-bottled ( $12.99, proprietors and
harvesters, www.dreyfusashby.com ) is a clean, crisp, almost tart blend and
taste of 30% Grenache and 70% Syrah. We just opened it a couple of weekend's
ago and it showed really well. It's a lovely treat to enjoy with a warm weather
meal like this Mother's Day?!? Great when you sip and you grill and you chat
and bavarder avec tout le monde!

5) " Les Cigales " 2011 DOMAINE De MOULINES ( $10.99, from the Pays
D'Herault in the southwest of France, 12.5% alcohol by volume in Mudaison ) is
another perfect dry , medium-to-light-bodied rose to enjoy when you are outside
with family and friends gathered around a meal. Mother's Day calls out for this
excellent dry rose as it goes with almost everything.

6) Vinho Verde dry, slightly-sparkling, low-alcohol Portuguese rose from
LAS LILAS ( $9.99 , 10% alcohol by volume, www.theartisancollection.us ) is
perfect for this warmer, more humid weather - especially when the sun comes out
and starts to bake us all. It also goes with most meals - so versatile in it's
many applications! Cheers. I will ask Chris Bartha to pour it this Saturday
here when we taste some of his excellent dry roses with you all.

7 ) Vinho Verde Dry Portuguese rose from GATAO ( $8.99, 10,5% alcohol by
volume ) is another slightly-sparkling, low-alcohol that's perfect for the
weather we are about to have descend upon us and stay with us for quite awhile.

REDS :

8) Shiraz-Viognier 2010 DOMAINE TERLATO & CHAPOUTIER from Australia's
Victoria region ( $21.99 ) combines real talent of France and California and
puts it in Australia copying the northern French Rhone style of dry reds really
well. Quite accomplished, really a finely-flavored and well-balanced wine. I
like it a whole lot! 14% alcohol by volume, 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier :
classic dry French pepper and spice style that's great to enjoy with a meal.

9) " Bone Dance " 2007 Napa Valley Merlot from JAQK CELLARS ( $28.99,
www.jaqkcellars.com, 14.5% alcohol by volume ) is elegant, polished and quite
beautifully-balanced. It's got flesh, flavor, spice -body and lots of flavor.
Nothing bland here : it shines and will shine even more with a good meal. it's
also from a really good vintage in California : love the wines of 2007! Cheers.
10) " Marquis de Lafayette " Virginia 2008 dry red Cabernet Franc ( $21.99,
13.8% alcohol by volume, www.breauxvineyards.com , Purcerville, Virginia ) is a
hearty, beefy and very flavorful, very appealing dry red to enjoy from the
BREAUX Vineyards. It's a favorite of our customers. All we have to do is taste
it out and bottles are bought and enjoyed at home soon afterward! Cheers.

SAKE :

11) " G " Sake Junmai Ginjo Genshu handcrafted " Joy " Sake ( $22.99,
www.sakeone.com ) has done really well for us here in Cleveland Park ). It's an
undiluted style of sake!

Angelo Pavan The Canadian-Born/ Italian Heritage- Veneto Winemaker For Years Now & CAVE SPRING Vineyard in Ontario, Canada

This was a great tasting. I loved it, loved all the wines as they are all balanced, speak of the place and the climate and are traditional, balanced, distinct and great food wines. I loved how with age the Pinot Noir became fleshier and fuller, more Rubenesque - a treat! Thanks, grazie Angelo. As we discussed and talked about wine and your visit to Brazil before coming here, I have now met Tom your boss several times, and have worked with these wines now for almost ten years? Cheers.

Here is the line-up for me to taste this past Tuesday in the afternoon. Our importer John Morrison brought Angelo here and was nice enough to  use his phone and take the pictures that I asked him to take and then send them to me. Thanks John!

Noor our customer that speaks Italian tasted with Angelo and they spoke in Italian about wine and life and ' all things Italian ' I I suspect! Nice.

notice, no time to act, no time to do much except feel a tremendous sense of
loss to our rapidly-changing neighborhood!

I WONDER IF IT'S POSSIBLE that they could take over the old DINO Enoteca
restaurant location? Then I heard what the owners of that space wanted per month
and my heart fell again to another level of despair that was already there with
the news of Palena closing! Too much, way too much for us all to wrap our minds
around. Too sudden, too quick, to much at once.

AT LEAST IT'S cool and refreshing though very wet outside today. Maybe the rain
will wash away all the bothersome pollen and also some of this devastating news
about the closing of so many fine restaurants here?!? We need some relief from
both now. " Rain , rain, come again ... " and wash away some of this crippling
pain that we are all too shocked to yet fully register yet.

SO : HAVING MENTIONED all of this we must move on and forward and so, with this
cooling rain and damp and wet and gray and cloudy skies for the rest of the week
till it clears up this weekend. It feels to me like late winter-early spring
now.

WINE For This Rain , Cold & Damp : Brrrrr -

1) Primitivo Del Salento 2010 from D & N  ( made by Andrea Fossi ), $10.99
is drinking beautifully. We still have a few bottles left of this delicious 2010
that pretty much blew me away yesterday when I tasted it with Andrea at the
Michael Downey portfolio tasting at the Hendry House yesterday on my day-off.
It's such a complex wine, so balanced and flavorful and such an incredible
value, too!

2) Sauvignon Blanc " Sur Lie " 2013 BODEGAS CARRAU in Uruguay's Cerro
Chapeu region. I met the owner and his daughter yesterday at the Michael Downey
portfolio wine-tasting. The Sauvignon is so clean and crisp and lively and
really bristling and brrr- refreshing! Lovely, $14.99 , 13% alcohol by volume, a
real treat.

3) ' Altos ' 2011 Rioja, Spain ( $10.99, 13.5% alcohol by volume, ) : we
just had Javier the owner here tasting through his full range which includes a
delicious dry white Rioja Viura, a dry red rose blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50%
Garnacha, ... and some delicious ' other ' reds, too that pretty much blew me
away - all of them, including the ecological Rioja red, too! This ALTOS is
fruit-forward, a bit of toasty-roasted berry-cherry flavors, smooth enough,
medium-to-light-bodied, a real treat. GREAT VALUE, too : great for this damp and
this cold!
4) Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2007 from D & N ( also made by Andrea
Fossi, $21.99, 14.5% alcohol by volume  ) I tasted yesterday at the Michael
Downey portfolio wine-tasting and also fell back in love with it, all over
again. Bigger than the Primitivo, more depth and substance, more gravitas ,
breed and flavor and elegance and more ' places ' to lose oneself in, a nook - a
cranny, a cravice, to become absorbed and lost and saved and magically morphed
and ' wondered ' and ' wowed ' and ' blessed in a good way that makes us all

5) 2009 Chianti Classico from FOSSI ( $17.99, 13.5% alcohol by volume ) : I
need to try this Andrea. I told you so, it's been awhile. I have been selling
your Chianti Classico wines that you and your father made going all the way back

IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW as we get into this May with some lovely flowers and plenty
of rain and drizzle promised this weekend to keep everything lush in delicate
greens and lots and lots of that accented with some nice colors provided by our
flowers, many of them lavender, delicate sky-blues , some yellows and
lingering-late-flowering Azaleas, too. The Dutch Irises are so pretty, too now.
Anyway, when it's warm enough and dry enough it's nice to be outside and we
have plenty of beers, wines and mixed drinks to recommend to you.

THE JAQK CELLARS wine-tasting this Friday, May 4th, 2012 from 5-8PM is tops on
our minds as we have had an overwhelming response with so many people RSVPing
that it gives us all pause as if even a small fraction of those of you that
have said you are attending do , in fact come : it raises the question : how
can we be proactive and ensure that everyone has a good experience, tries all
seven of the JAQK CELLARS California wines and has a chance to buy them if they
want? We are, of course, working very hard on this to be sure that we do
everything that we can to make this a grand success for everyone. There are
thundershowers forecast for Friday so let's put all our heads together and
hope/pray that it does not rain during our wine-tasting.

AS USUAL I HAVE FOUND so many great things to bring to your attention this
morning. From Santos there are so really " new " and some older discoveries
that I want to mention : all that deliver big to you. Here are some of Santos'
beers to consider :

1) DC BRAU ( Finally! Here available in very limited quantities here in
our store as of last week I believe? There are three flavors, ALL in 12-ounce
cans and we have some of all three :
a) DC BRAU " The Citizen " Belgian-Style Pale ( $11.99 6-12-ounce gold
cans, 7% alcohol by volume , www.dcbrau.com ) that is recommended to be served
in a tulip goblet. " In 1963, the citizens of Washington DC won the right to
vote for the President & Vice-President of the United States with the
ratification of the 23rd amendment to the Constitution ."

b) DC BRAU " The Public "  Pale ( $11.99 a 6-pack of 12-ounce cans, 6%
alcohol by volume, www.dcbrau.com : " In November 2000,the D.C. Department of
Motor Vehicles began issuing license plates bearing the slogan : Taxation
Without Representation " ". For more info visit : www.dcvote.org. Come and buy
some of these marvelous shiny red and silver cans and enjoy the ale while you
think about all of this.

c) DC BRAU " The Corruption " India Pale Ale ( $12.99 a 6-pack pf
12-ounce green cans , www.dcbrau.com ) is the third in the series and we also
have it available in limited quantities for sale here on this sunny afternoon
at 1:32PM! You should come and get a 6-pack of each to try. Cheers ...  I have
not included the statement on the can as it is buried temporarily at the bottom
of the stack. You have to come and read it yourselves.

2) " Simcoe SPRING Ale " from the PEAK " Organic " Brewing Company (
$10.99 a 6-pack of 12-ounce bottles, USDA Certified, Portland, ME. ) are : "
pure ingredients, delicious beer ". I was really impressed out our last tasting
of the PEAK beers. As a matter of fact, and something that I noticed
immediately : this one of the very first times that across the board I was
equally impressed with all the beers that I sampled. That rarely happens for
me. Cheers.

3) " Golden Cap " Saison Ale from the NEW HOLLAND Brewing Company, Holland
, Michigan, 12 Fl. Oz. bottles, 6.25% Alcohol by volume,
www.NewHollandBrew.com, Kitchen.NewHollandBrew.com ) : " Brewed with wheat's
ancestor, spelt. A golden body and unique hay and cracked peppercorn. Pairings
: shellfish, citrus, garlic, 16 Plato, Alc. by volume is 6.25% by volume ".
Check this one out.

1) Raspberry Liqueur from CLEAR CREEK Distillery ( $24.99, 20.5% alcohol

Estates ) is " new and exciting ". The minute I saw that it was represented by
the DOMAINE SELECT portfolio I knew that it was a really fine quality product
because that is all that they represent. The only thing left for each of us to
discover is whether this high quality G-VINE Small Batch Distilled French Gin
is our style or not?!? Come check it out. You owe it to yourselves if you love
gin. Cheers.

2) " Arctic Grape " White Grape infused Arctic Berry GRAPE RUM from BACARDI
( $16.99, 35% Alcohol By Volume, Bacardi rum with natural flavors  ) is " new
and exciting "!!!!!

3) GLEN GARIOCH 12 Yr. Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, ( $64.99,
non-chill-filtered, ) : " gains it's distinctive Highland character from a
classic marriage of BOURBON & SHERRY CASKS, fresh heather, poached pears and
just a HINT OF OAK ". Sounds mighty appealing, it really does. Check it out : a
class-act!

HIGH-END LIQUOR UPDATE :

Earlier as I was typing this store email for you all Santos said that
there was a winemaker waiting to see me. I came out to help a customer and saw
two well-dressed-in-dark-blue suits gentlemen and I introduced myself after
helping the two lady customers. Scott Siegel immediately congratulated me on my
salesmanship representing three different off-dry still rose wines (  a) the
Virginia RAPIDAN RIVER  rhaspberry-flavored, grape with natural flavor added,
$12.99, www.princemichel.com - I remember years ago working with Yoachim
Hollerith ,  b) " Les Ligeriens " Rose D'Anjou 2011 - On Special for $10.99 -
we just tasted it here this past weekend and I said I it was a blend of Chenin
Blanc and some some Gamay in my opinion  -  and  3) LE LAPIN Paso Robles,
California White Zinfandel 2010 , $9.99, 12.9% alcohol by volume. Scott went on
to say that he liked how I mentioned the possible blend in the French Loire
Valley rose d'Anjou.

I ASKED SCOTT SIEGEL what winery that he was with after he and Rick Scully gave
me their business cards and congratulated us again on having their product -
just one. NO : Scott and rick were not winemakers as Santos had thought : they
represent the ultimate CASA DRAGONES white Tequila. They poured some for me to
taste once I asked to see the bottle and asked the price : $279.99 a bottle. We
have some here. It comes in a beautiful and stylish old apothecary decanter
that they found in a museum. It's only a copy of course and so understated,
just like this " Joven " category of tequila that is in, fact a blend. Scott
told me all about it and I appreciate that. I LOVED THE TASTE : so smooth and
creamy and elegant and delicate and subtle and refined and a
charmer-pleaser-delicate teaser. I have some her so come by and ask to taste
it. They poured me a large glass so that I could share it with you all. You
only really just need a sip or two at the most to come under it's spell.
THE SOFT DEEP SKY-BLUE color of the box and part of the label alone is so
peaceful, calming and soothing - like great karma , zen, everything in balance
and everything positive. It's pretty amazing tequila. Come and ask me for a

FOUR WINES TO TEMPT YOU ALL :

SPARKLING -

1) KRAEMER Chardonnay Brut, Caves de LANDIRAS - kosher for Passover (
$15.99 ) tastes like a cremant-style and is really very nice. We are thrilled
to have it back once again : our third order I believe?

DRY WHITE -

1) Vinho Verde dry, light, slightly-sparkling Portuguese white from
SANTOLA ( $7.99, with only 9% alcohol ) will be great once it gets really hot
and humid and everyone still wants to drink white wine and be outside. Find
some shade and be slow in all your movements and enjoy. Get some now to be
ahead of the crowd. So far the response has been quite positive to this vinho
verde.

DRY ROSE -

1) Indigenous grape variety Bobal from Spain, this " La Senda " dry
Bobal rose ( On Special for $9.99 a bottle, www.bodegaspinuaga.com, 13% alcohol
by volume, vino de la Tierra de Castilla ) has deep, dark, lighter red colors
and has softened in the bottle. It had more immediate spice and acidity and it
has mellowed nicely so that we may all enjoy it with or without food.

DRY RED -

1) Valpolicella 2010 Vigneto RAFAEL Classico Superiore from TOMMASI
Viticoltori ( $16.99, www.tommasiwine.it, S. Pietro in Cariano, Veneto, Italy )
has got some good flesh and body and is an excellent food wine : medium-bodied.
Excellent when you grill - chill it slightly.

WEEK'S TASTINGS :
