Thanks. This is a great way to start my day as I get ready to go to work and set up for owner and winemaker doug Fabbioli of his own Leesburg/ loudoun County, Virginia winery FABBIOLI CELLARS to come pour a selection of his fine wines today. JOIN US : 2-6PM, everyone ALWAYS welcome. Lets get passed this rain of yesterday and get stocked up in case Monday turns out to be a really bad weather day! Cheers, No charge for the tasting, only if you buy something. saturday, December 7th, 2013 ... get a bottle signed as a gift by Doug for these holidays. TONY

Thanks for the tasting Doug : the Tannat 2010 was a delight : so open and inviting and pleasing since my first tasting it more than a year ago when it opened so gradually that it took the 5th day to be a firmer and heartier version that it was yesterday on the first day! What a mark-over - what an incredible blossoming and transformation - who would have suspected? Who would have known? How couldwe be sure? The 2012 Chambourcin, $21.99 with the " new " label was also a real delight, there was a firmness and a real pepper and spice to the Reserve Cabernet Franc, $27.99 : it's got a solid mouth-feel that I liked and made me think of food almost immediately after the Chambourcin which I could have sipped for awhile chatting when chatting with family and friends. The Merlot -Raspberry , $25.99, in a 375ml bottle was pure Raspberry puree that made my mouth smile immediately and my taste-buds curl round the liquid red effortlessly, a willing participant I became in a flash second. Thanks Doug and congrats! Enjoy today's snow at FABBIOLI CELLARS! Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 12/8/13 Sunday at 9:56AM now ... off to Bentley's for breakfast with our daughter now before the snowfall ... TONY

Thanks Doug, the wines all showed beautifully : your best to date!  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn

The snow's coming down now more steadily. Back from breakfast at Bentley's with our daughter, I'm here on our couch looking out on our cul-de-sac, all snug and warm and watching the snowflakes come down. My wife just asked me : " Do you want the Christmas lights on ? " I said : " Yes, that would be nice. " And then she asked me : " Are you going to count the snowflakes? " I said : " No, but I can see them all from here. " as I smiled and looked out our big windows outside. I can see the golden small lights on our trees reflected in this glass with many bare trees and their stark brown and a thin but quickly=thickening blanket of white snow starting to cover their bark and the grass below as well as the cat-tops, too. Cheers, thanks again Doug. Always a pleasure to see you. You are one of the few Virginia wineries that contacts us regularly and that braves the wilds and the jungles of city life to come into Washington D.C. each year. You my friend are part of what I call our Cleveland Park family! Take care, I hope you have many coming to taste at FABBIOLI CELLARS today and to take cheer and warmth in your fine wines and snacks and food that you pair with them in the tasting room. Happy Sunday, December 8th, 2013 : Happy Holidays All 2013!  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn   here toasty and warm from my vantage point in my manor and chateau - our home - in northern Virginia. Always happy to go green and sell and promote local!    TONYday, December 8th, 2013 ..

Anthony Quinn Thanks Lucinda, it was a great tasting with Doug yesterday at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits in Washington D.C. Northwest, 20008 , Saturday December 7th, 2013 from 2-6PM : all the wines showed beautifully, really some of his best efforts! TONY enjoy the white as it falls all around, so calming, so peaceful, our individual or group moments of soothing zen ... TONY

Olivia was just here with us tasting with owner Doug Fabbioli of his own Virginia Leesburg, VA. winery FABBIOLI CELLARS. I asked Olivia after she tasted the wines which she liked? She responded : " I like them all! " We got a bottle of the PACO ROSA red blend Chambercin, Vidal Blanc and Cabernet Franc that's fruity and bright and toast red strawberry-flavored- easy-sipping to enjoy that Doug signed for her. Catie was nice to take these two pictures of us. Thanks Catie. Olivia's seeing-eye dog was starting to drink the wine from the plastic cups in the trash can and so I quickly moved it away as we cannot have that as her dog is " on the job ", and that just wasn't good. Next time Olivia I'll get some water for her. What fun it was to have you come and taste with us Olivia. Have a great weekend! Cheers, TONY 12/7/13

During our tasting I saw a lady looking at the liquor on the wall and I asked her if she would like to taste Doug Fabbioli's Virginia wines with him. She smiled and said to me : " Sure, but I never tasted a Virginia wine that I liked. " I responded : " Well, then you can tell him what you think to his face. " as I smiled back. Doug did not hear our conversation but did inquire to what we had just said? I explained and he said that to Doreen : " Will you taste my wines? " And we were off, our necks on the line here with Doreen. She spoke a second to Doug as I answered another customer's question., When I got back Doug informed me that Doreen was only going to try one wine and what should that be. I said the Chambourcin 2012, $21.99 as it is my favorite and showed so beautifully. We tasted Doreen on this and I asked her what she thought ? She responded : " I don't hate it. " Well, not only did Doreen not hate it but she bought a bottle! And Doug you may have even signed it for her! Success, how sweet it can be, how sweet it can taste, just like the taste of your excellent 2012 dry red French hybrid ( still grown in France;s Loire Valley ) Chambourcin. Cheers everyone! One step at a time, one taste at a time, we - Virginia wines are gaining ground Doug!

It's really coming down now Doug : how's the snow in Leesburg, Virginia  at FABBIOLI CELLARS now : a winter wonderland?! Cheers,   TONY

I Just Heard It Announced On Channel 4 News NBC That Nelson Mandela Has Passed Away As I Was Typing About The LAETITIA Vineyard California Sparkling Wines & The Dry White Pinot Blanc & The Red Pinot Noir Still As Well! Cheers, We Will Miss You Nelson!

Speaking of Laetitia Vineyards' wines and bubblies, too : and the recently announced passing of Nelson Mandela :

Thanks Jackie, the history we have with Laetitia is long and involved and really quite special as they go. I remember so well the real love that many of our customers like Mike had for the Pinot Blanc when we started years ago. How can I forget that, it was profound : the quality was amazing, and then we could not buy it here in Washington D.C. as it all went to a major hotel chain I believe? What a grand loss that was : went through, all of us , a real sense of mourning : much as wel all will do now that Nelson Mandela had just been pronounced dead. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of this, really I am. It's a whole lot to digest just now. I need a moment .... TONY ( 12/5/13 )

Inspirational. Years ago while in South Africa with John Morrison we were driving in Cape Town and John pointed out Mandela's house as we left a winery there in Constantia and headed to John's daughter's home for a lovely meal. Yesterday Theresa Morrison was at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits talking about their arriving container of much-anticipated wines from South Africa and the tasting we will be doing in the store later this December 2013. We will dedicate it to Mandela and to the boundless inspiration and admiration he has inspired in all of us. Cheers, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn when I heard the news on NBC Channel 4 I was writing the people of the LAETITIA Vineyard & Winery in California and had to pause, and told them so.

@ Cleveland Park Wines & SPirits in Washington D.C. , 20008 last night ...

The store was packed, it was hard to move around, everyone side-by-side,happy, smiling, sampling some of the 35 different sparkling wines that we had to sample with the generous and expert help of Regis of Roanoke Imports, Ines Oro of BOHINAS Cavas os Spain through Tradewinds Specialty Imports, Mike Cavanagh of A&M Imports and his own CAVANAGH Family Imports with his wife, pouring two sparkling wines from Brazil's SALTON Winery that were a " big surprise and hit " with many, Richard of Elite Imports, Roberta of Washington Wholesalers representing the Robert Kacher French sparkling houses and champagnes of PASCAL DOQUET and AMBROISE Cremant de Bourgogne, IRON HORSE " Classic " vintage-dated- was it a 2008?!? -  ( the IRON HORSE had a great mineral-citrus quality that was so dry and so measured and so fine, and that needed food as it was - with highs and lows and middles and real cadence and nuances and distinction and CLARITIES, too : I liked it, drew me in so quickly ... ) , and the LAETITIA Brut Non Vintage, On Special for $19.99 - what a great deal! too of California - I liked the " presence ", the " body ", the " toast " and the " " bread " - and on the seconand then ...d bottle tasted last night I liked the elegance, " fullness " , and the silkiness and fruit! ..., Enrico Sasso of IL PIOPPO Italian Artisanal family growers, and Mark of J.W. SIEG. We poured many fine small French champagnes that are Grand Cru and Premier Cru quality and also " Recoltant-Manipulant " in quality! John a Master Of Wine that gets our store email came and tasted, says he's a friend of Frenchman Pascal and smiled as he said this, loved the selection, and stayed for awhile. It was special, and everyone smiled, talked, and drank in all this great cheer of 35 types and seven people pouring and teaching-informing them as they did. Cheers, happy holidays, come back, we have more! Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 12/5/13

what fun @ CP Wine & Spirits last night, 12/4/13 , I just posted this on that Facebook page and am copying and pasting here now . TONY

Ned came through the store looking for a bottle of port for a gift for someone that knows port so I took him over and immediately - wow , Nelson Mandela dead, I just heard this on Channel 4 as I was typing - I have to pause for a moment - ... anyway, now a few seconds later - I showed Ned the bottle of FEREIRA 20-Year-old Tawny that we have On Special for $59.99 : it BLEW Michel Dumas and Anthony Quinn- me - AWAY when we tried it. This is our second order and just in time for the holidays! Ned bought it after much discussion and I showed him other choices , too. It was my first recommendation - he went with it! Cheers, happy holidays Ned! TONY 12/5.13

A photo and the text - words of Pele on his Facebook page just now I copied with a picture of him and Nelson Mandela :

" Hoje estou entristecido demais Nelson foi uma das maiores influencia na minha vida. Foi um heroi para mim, um amigo e um companheiro na luta pelo povo e pela paz no mundo. Vamos todos nos continuar sua legacia com proposito e paixao. "  Pele

Romy will focus on the GOTHAM reds tonight : a fine Cabernet Sauvignon, two Shiraz reds, one a very special 2008 that we will be introducing to you all for the first time. Limited quantity on this one, so come and taste and buy tonight, get signed for a gift, and enjoy when you have a moment to savor it this holiday season! Cheers. See you soon Romy!  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn  12/5/13  Hello Bruce and Kate!  Happy Holidays all ...   TONY

This will be special, something nice for the holidays to warm and cheer us all with family and friends, a real treat! See you all soon.

These are pictures I took at the beginning of 2013 and they give an idea of what it's like today, no snow but maybe some rain? Cheers, join us, what a treat. Bruce and Kate have already done wine-tastings of their wines here. It will be the first time we meet Romy.  TONY

Romy passed through tonight : what a vibrant, young, youthful, carefree, beacher-girl-surfer-girl bit of Aussie freshness for us all - a gift of sorts from Syndney, Australia where the beaches are fine, where it is summer now in Australia and Romy might be there at the beaches that are fine there now?!? Anyway, we had Romy in the store and she signed many of her GOTHAM wines , and Men Of GOTHAM wines for our customers, said that Kate was " a good egg ", smiled, was cheerful and bright and a delight to have tasting her wines like the one where she picked the grapes, then stomped them , too - announcing to me earlier and to her father Bruce at the time that it was indeed " hard work ", ... the Stalking Horse ---  that in the image looked like a stallion horse stalking a man ( that she said looked like her brother?!? ) ... a Shiraz that I quite liked, almost as much - but not nearly as much as the McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon, $17.99 - a 2009 was it?!? - that Romy said was " her favorite ". I'm glad for that as it has been mine, too. I did discover a " new " red blend that I also liked very much. More on that when I am back at the store. Cheers, Thanks Romy, what a treat. GREAT TASTING.  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn  Thursday night @ Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits, December 5th, 2013.

Bruce just wrote on Facebook to me :  ( 12/6/13 )

" Hi Tony, glad you have now met my other lovely daughter. I am such a proud dad. Will drop in between Christmas and New Year. I will be in D.C. "    Bruce

Thanks Bruce, it was special. Romy and Kate to me are so different and it's been a treat to meet and to taste with both in the store, we sold lots each time as you may have guessed, and I look forward to seeing you at the end of this year. Do you want to taste with customers for an hour or so? Let me know, anytime is okay, just have to be ready with enough wine? That would be fun! I did not know you were a surfer and loved the beach?   Happy holidays to you and your family.  TONY  12/6/13

I, too am such a proud dad with a great daughter and a great son. We are both such lucky dads. Cheers to them all.   TONY

Anthony Quinn's Tuesday December 6th, 2011 Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits' Store Email For The Week & Our Bubbly Big-Theme Tasting : Enjoy!

And this year we added SALTON Brut N.V., $14.99, and SALTO Moscatel, $14.99 - sweeter : both from Brazil's Serra Gaucha southern region. Quite tasty, quite successful, too!

Brought a bottle of the SALTON Brut espumante sparkling wine home last night, Saturday Deecember 7th, 2013 to enjoy here in northern Virginia with my family. Turns out we enjoyed it just my wife and I here on a snowy white late afternoon, early evening while listening to the c.d. by Jim Stutsman called his : " Winter Sampler " of old, classic songs that he puts together to share seasonally. he was the drummer since the beginning of the Washington Opera that performs at the Kennedy Center here in Washington D.C., Northwest. We love the music he assembles and shares with his friends. Tonight was no exception. We enjoyed the SALTON Brut, $14.99 ( the price at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008, Tel : 202-363-4265  anthony.quinn@clevelandparkwines.com ) - we tasted it to grand success this past Wednesday at our Big-Theme Sparkling Wine-Tasting of 35 different bubblies . Tonight it showed really well all by itself before I brought out the cheeses : a creamy American herbed goat's cheese, a " Crotin de Chevre " and a " Brie De Meaux " that my daughter purchased and brought back last week from the Charles de Gaulle airport outside of Paris, France. The Brie de Meaux was fabulous with the SALTON, it worked beautifully, even with an older brie like this. That was a nice thing to notice. It was a delight, and we enjoyed it thoroughly, finishing the bottle over two-three hours just the two of us. Obregado SALTON Brut espumante!  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 12/8/13

JOIN US For Our CHAMPAGNE/Sparkling Wine BIG THEME Tasting tomorrow night,
Wednesday December 7th, 2011 from 5:30-8:30PM. THERE IS NO CHARGE for this
tasting and so bring family and friends, office associates, neighbors :
EVERYONE WELCOME! This is the most popular event that we do each year and
people talk about it all through the year and get these really big smiles and
grins that cover their faces. It's fun to witness, always makes me smile and
grin, too. ALL Sparkling wines and Champagnes will be On Special tomorrow
during our tasting, and that's from Bottle #1! You can get even better deals by
buying six or more bottles or even more when you buy twelve or more bottles.
That can be assorted between all the bubbly we sell here in the store, any
size, any style ( everything except the Veuve Clicquot ) : SAVE and SAVE and
SAVE SOME MORE.  ...   MOSTLY have a great time and learn something as you
taste, meet others and PLEASE BUY ONE BOTTLE Or More to show your thanks for
these Monthly BIG THEME Tastings that we hold here and do not charge for.

WE ALSO HAVE BAILEY'S Washington D.C. Chocolates back again for you all to add
to your purchases if you like what you taste. She makes them herself here
locally in Washington D.C. and she has sampled them here now twice already and
so many of you already know them and have bought boxes of them to share with
loved ones. They make an excellent gift and when combined, for example with the
sparkling red Lambrusco's of Italy that we sell like tomorrow's ROSENERE Black
and Red labels ( BOTH $14.99 a bottle ) that Regis will pour for you.

WE WILL HAVE SIX Sparkling Wine Stations and ONE for Bailey and her chocolates.
I still have not added all of the sparkling wines up yet : I will let that be
one big surprise tomorrow for all of you that come and brave the wet and the
rain that we are supposed to get. Sorry for that but for those of you brave
enough all the bubbly and the chocolate and good cheer will certainly make up
for the rain I believe.

WE HAVE MATT coming to show you about how sparkling wine/champagne is made.
Matt will pour the three wines of CHANDON, Carneros, California :  1)
Chardonnay,  2) Pinot Noir  and  3) Pinot Meunier : all still wines without
bubbles. Next he will pour the CHANDON Napa Brut, Rose and Blanc De Noir and
you can all debate and see what flavors in the three still wines manifested
them in their bubbly counterparts. This is a great idea and of course it
carries over into the MOET Et CHANDON French champagnes as well that we have
often included in these Big Theme tastings. This will be a fun addition. Both
Ean and I got a chance to try the still CHANDON wines of the Pinot Meunier and
the Pinot Noir and we were both blown away by their high quality. They will
also be here On Special along with the sparkling wines.

FRANCOIS HURTEL of Brittany, France will be our Special Guest of this evening.
Francois came to us years ago selling the PIERRE FERRAND cognacs and the Pineau
des Charentes, too. We still carry them today thanks to all his hard work on
that front. Since then Francois has gone onto representing the VRANKEN USA
house that represents both POMMERY and HEIDSIECK-MONOPOLE champagnes. Both will
be tasted here by Francois and that includes some of the excellent and
ridiculously low-priced vintage-dated 1995 POMMERY champagne that we are
selling for $71.99 a bottle!  SO : ask Francois about his French sparkling
wines, cognacs and congratulate him, too as he and his wife are expecting a
baby : all good.

BRENNAN DOWNEY WILL BE POURING Fun French sparkling like those made with the
Mauzac grape as well as many sparkling Italian wines that go from grapes like
Asprinio to Malvasia, Erbaluce, and others, as well as a dry Spanish cava made
from the Xarello and other indigenous grapes. He will have some of those
treasures that we all still need to discover.

JODY JACKMAN WILL BE POURING some more eclectic sparkling wines made in places
like Austria ( the Gruner Veltliner ), in Greece ( an organic Mascofilero ),
some great cavas, some Veneto Italian Prosecco and a fun, out-of-the-way
off-dry French rose made in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains ...
something for people wanting to discover more of the far-reaches of our
wondrous world.

MARK CONGDON WILL POUR some sparkling wines from as far away as South Africa,
some LOUIS DE VARANCY N.V. ( non-vintage ) Brut champagne, an organic Cremant
D'Alsace from France, some Spanish Cava from Penedes and some Italian Veneto
Prosecco, too : ALL great values.

REGIS WILL POUR Three Grand Cru Champagnes from tiny little producers that none
of you have ever heard of before. Many if not all of them are  " RM " that
means " Recoltant-Manipulant " and not " NM or CM " which mean "
Negociant-Manipulant " or " Commerciant-Manipulant ". He can explain that to
you all tomorrow ask him. If you need clarification seek me out at the tasting
tomorrow and ask me. I will be happy to explain more about this because it does
make a difference and you should all know about this. I can address more about
this in my next store email to you all. Regis will also have some Italian
Veneto Prosecco and some inexpensive Italian spumante that our delivery driver
just told me makes a " killer " Mimosa as well. That's always nice for the
weekends.

WE HAVE COVERED ALL STYLES, all levels of sweetness, from clear to dry, all
prices, and from as many grape varieties and regions of the world as possible.
Some of these are back by popular demand and many have never-ever been tasted
here before. SO  :  JOIN US.

JUST ADDED : Came In Just In The Nick Of Time : French Blanquette De Limoux of
DOMAINE B. & B. BOUCHE Brut, proprietaires-vignerons ( a Jack Siler Selection

Current Notes On Monday's Visit To IL BORRO In Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy With Salvatore Ferragamo & Laura, & Tasting & Enjoying With My Family For Our 2013 Thanksgiving Meal Upon Their Return This Sunday The 2010 Pian Di Nova IL BORRO Dry Red Blend Of 75% Syrah & 25% Sangiovese : Quite The Treat! Grazie Salvatore E Laura!

I heard so many nice things about IL BORRO from my family and how beautiful it was, they loved the experience, walking along , I saw in the pictures the flower pots hanging from the upper windows, the ivy and green growing along the walls on the narrow walkways that hugged the hill, the miniature renditions of the village and the people - close-ups in the pictures to better see, the pool of water - a rectangular space of reflective, vibrant water, the walking down into the cellars and the darkness and warmth, the steel tanks for wine that walled the above-ground winery, the shimmer, the shine of steel, wondering what was inside ? And I would enjoy later the Pian di Nova 2010 75% Syrah and 25% Sangiovese,... that was great with the cheese and again a day later really nice with my steak ... cheers , grazie ,  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn  ... the 2010 still needs time, I'd ideally give it another 3-5 years of cellaring to have it offer up everything that it has inside to please and tease and pleasure us all! Happy holidays 2013 everyone.  TONY

In response to Dave McIntyre's recent post here on Facebook on sparkling wines to enjoy for the holidays...

At our Big-Theme Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits Sparkling Bubbly-Champagne tasting of thirty-five wines we introduced the SALTON Brut and the SALTON Espumante Moscatel ( both $14.99 ) that showed beautifully from Serra Gaucha and were a pretty big hit, sold quite a bit, too : as no one knew these two sparkling wines from Brazil, and with both the Soccer World Cup and the Olympics coming soon there they were quite the conversation and eye-opener Dave. Have you tried them yet? Enjoyed your article. Enjoy most of them and am sorry to say that I often have to defend them as being relevant, insightful and well-written. Cheers, happy holidays 2013, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn  12/16/13, ...

I  wrote this just now to Dave

Next year we will taste the NATHALIE FALMET Brut Nature French champagne that just arrived yesterday in our store, Tuesday, Dec. 17th, 2013. Below is what I wrote onwe and champagne-maker Nathalie Falmet :

Je viens de voir ce matin Nathalie que dans le Washington Post " Food " section que vous-etes le premier sur la liste de Dave McIntyre qui ecrit au sujet des vins, et en cette article de le Washington Post newspapier , Mercredi le 18 Decembre : There's more to champagne than the bubbles " ... que vous-avez recu trois etoiles ( exceptional ) : et Dave a ecrit : "  Nathalie Falmet is the epitome of a small grower. She owns just three hectares ( about 7.5 acres ) of vines and produces her wines in a bare-bones warehouse. Her brut nature , from 100 percent pinot noir and made with no dosage of sugar, is electrifying in it focus and intensity. Alcohol by volume : 12 percent. "  ... J.W. SIEG Available in the district at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits; on the list at Degrees Bistro. Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn  12/18/13

I remember years ago drinking and loving the : no dosage LEGRAS Brut Integral that cost a whopping 53 francs I believe in Paris in the early seventies when I lived there with my family ( my father was a career diplomat with the American Embassy - Foreign Service there at the time, the Consul of Visas, then of Passports, then back again to the Consul of Visas in the Talleyrand building ), and we discovered it at the Caves de la Madeleine owned by Steven Spurrier. ... And on the night before my now wife and I left Paris, France to return to the United States in late August 1980 we drank a bottle of the LEGRAS Brut Integral : what great times and memories, and Nathalie's Brut Nature is in the very same league : extraordinary, challenges the limits! Cheers, sante all, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 12/18/13 the sun's out on this cold December morning and the skies are a dash milky-baby blue! TONY

Picture I took in the town of Bento Goncalves , Serra Gaucha, Vale Dos Vinhedos, Brazil when I arrived there at the Hotel Victoria Dall'Onder in late June 2012 and both Crucius and Milto Sebben offered me a taste of the estra dry SALTON espumante sparkling wine, my first glass of Brazilian wine in Brazil and boy did it taste great! Obregado Crucius e Milton! You made my day! Cheers, TONY 1/5/14

Part 2 BUBBLY-FRENCH CHAMPAGNE-Sparkling-Wine-Tasting 12/30/13 (12 photos)
This was a trial of sorts to give those good customers of ours like Evie, Gay and Mark and Phoebe a chance to come to our annual BUBBLY tasting that they missed, for whatever reason on Wednesday, December 4th, 2013. This one Grew from a tasting that Michel Dumas and Anthony Quinn ( me ) had set with Mike Cavanagh to taste the stille and sparkling wines of SALTON, Brazil, and OVER THE MOUNTAIN, South Africa on Monday, December 3oth, 2013. I pieced it together as I went along. Marcie Weinstein of Constantine Imports sent and interesting list of sparkling wines and French champagnes from around the world that included Italy, Austria, Australia, Germany, Portugal and owner James Henry here in Cleveland Park of Teavine sparkling green tea and honey stopped by, Andrew Stover of Vino50 Imports and Siema Imports had his usual " fun " STONE HILL , Missouri sparkling white and fruity rose, as well as his SHINDIG Vidal Blanc Finer Lakes, New York State selections as well as dry Italian Piemontese 100% sparkling rose made from the Nebbiolo grape, and BEA sparkling red Italian, too. And Mark Congdon of J.W. Sieg had the Nathalie FALMET Brut Nature French champagne that was so new and exciting and a great RM - recoltant manipulant champagne to taste with you all for the first-time as it is " new " and very limited in availability! FUN! It was a huge success and here are some pictures I quickly took with the use of Kevin Gleeson's i-phone that he loaned me. Thanks Kevin. Cheers and Happy New Year One and ALL! For ONE and for ALL! Equal opportunity, equal access for all! Cheers, TONY 1/5/14

On my drive to DOM CANDIDO winery in the Serra Gaucha region, the Vale Dos Vinhedos, Brazil's wine-grape-growing region, one of them as there are five or six. It was in Brazil's winter in late June 2012 and still everything was green and beautiful! Wow!   TONY   Ola Roberto!

Mike Cavanagh pours the SALTON espumante and the still wines, too! Obregado Mike!  1/5/14

This is Milton Sebben that in late June 2012 introduced me to SALTON espumante extra brut when he handed me a glass at the Hotel Victoria Dall'Onder in the wine town of Bento Congalves and thus created a bond between the three of us forever, as it was very tasty, alive, fresh, bright , a delight, and my first-ever glass of wine for me to drink in Brazil! Obregado Milton! here are two quick portrait sketches that I did of Milton while staying at the Hotel Victoria, and Milton poured me several glasses of the SALTON extra dry espumante while I stayed there, and I enjoyed each and everyone of them! " The only reason I'm on Facebook is because of you! " Dan proudly said with a bright smile to me when he greeted me here by the Italian wines last night. He said that he did not like Facebook but since his visit for our Part Two BUBBLY Tasting of 21 sparkling wines and French champagnes of Monday night, December 30th, 2013 he decided to LIKE us on Facebook and see what we were up to here on a daily basis. Thanks Dan, we appreciate that, we really do. It was great to see you last night here again. When you came on the 30th of December you liked the Champagne DUMANGIN and had a half-bottle of the NV Brut dry rose that you bought, $29.99 as well as another one or two which I cannot remember now. Oh well, too much to keep track of. On that night you and Jane and Michael our local amateur photographer all had lengthy conversations here. As a matter of fact Michael wanted to know Jane's name as he and she both shop here and taste often together at our tasting table. Cheers Dan, Jane and Michael! Come TODAY and taste with John and Theresa Morrison " new " arrivals from South Africa from 2-6PM! Cheers,  Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 1/11/14
