Cleveland Park Wine Cleveland Park Beer, Liquor & Wine
Featuring a wide, international selection of fine wines, micro-brews and spirits
JANUARY, TUESDAY, January 14th,  2014 ...

HERE - AQUI - ICI - YAHAN At Cleveland Park and We have so much going on that
we're like a factory of activity, a three-ring circus , if you will, with
activity up front by the register. So many beer and liquor sales people are
speaking with Jagir, Malkit and Santos as old and regular items are reordered
and new ones are discussed.

SANTOS JUST MENTIONED from Marci Weinstein of Constantine Imports the
MASTERSON'S 10-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey that we have here and sell for
$75.99 a 750ml bottle. It's 45% alcohol by volume, comes in a great gift box and
packaging for a late gift that you might still want or need to make from the
2013 holidays where someone helped you out while you traveled, picked up you
mail, fed and walked you dog, made sure the apartment was safe with lights on at
night, mail brought inside?!?

MASTERSON'S from 35 Maple Street, Sonoma, California  is something really
special ( a great gift ),  and a bit on the fun and cutting-edge! Go to :
www.35maplestreet.com for more info. Marcie, let's do an " in-store " tasting
soon of this superb MASTERSON'S 10-Year-Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey! That would
be fun, that would give me an opportunity to

SANTOS ALSO mentioned the KIRK and SWEENEY 12-Year-Old Dominican Rum from
Santiago De Los CABALLEROS , D.R. , $42.99 a 750ml bottle 40% alcohol by volume.

" In the spirit of the rum running schooner KIRK and SWEENEY, this rum is
well worth pursuing. Made with sugar cane and aged in oak barrels for 12 years,
KIRK and SWEENEY shows a rich mahogany color, smoothly capturing a complex range
of flavors, from earthy sugar cane and dried fruit to vanilla and toasted oak."

I'M "  IN "  after reading all of this, sounds like my kind of rum to a " T "!
Wonder if they have wild tigers running around in the Dominican Republic?

I DID NOT SEE any, but I loved my vacation there. It's so beautiful. I can
imagine sipping this in the evening after a lovely meal outside on the sand or
by the water's edge. Or up on a roof top here in D.C. or from a balcony. Last
night would have been perfect, tonight not bad either though perhaps cooler, so
you stay outside sipping for a shorter period but you enjoy watching the sunset
as you plan a vacation to the Dominican Republic on Valentine's Day soon?!?
Nice. Either way. Even when you get back from your dinner during Restaurant
Week. So many ideas, so many possibilities.
IT'S ALSO  RESTAURANT WEEK and as you know you can get excellent mussels at
Lavandou. Call or go by Lavandou and see what they have prepared for you this
year? Florence works hard, really hard at this. Imagine, LAVANDOU has been in
business now for over 20 years in the same location with the same name! What a
small treasure it's been for us all over the years. I have seen many of you
there from Maureen and Chris, to Isabel, to Justin and Marie, Bill, Paul and
Carol, Tatiana, Tom and Rick, Arielle, me and so many others of you!

I JUST TALKED TO  General Manager Dave Hansen of PULPO and they have a choice of
any three entrees from the menu , and also an additional dessert item, all for
$35.14 a person, from January 13th-19th, 2014. that extends through , that goes
an additional week through the 26th, 2014!

ON TOP OF  THAT, PULPO has a daily-changing by the bottle wine sale that also
includes bottles of beer for you all to take advantage of.

AND DINO IS HERE through February from what we heard from one of the employees
there this past weekend! SO : Dean and Kay have  special things planned for you
all! That's great. We have seen many people dining there recently as they - we
all are sorry to see DINO go and change it's name and be in the Shaw area of
D.C. so far away from us! We will miss you DINO!

TAKE ADVANTAGE of Restaurant Week's lunch and dinner menus and great prices,
too. NO NEED TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE, STAY in Cleveland Park and help the businesses
that all need more of you stopping by and frequenting them more as so much
business is now going to other areas of D.C. at a crucial time. This is serious,
we need to do everything as a community to keep our restaurants here alive and
healthy and " in business ". Cheers. I don't know but it would be a great idea
as they are " new " here and people need to get to know them. There are , of
course many fine restaurants here following Restaurant Week. Some do not : take
advantage of them all, from January 13th - January 19th, 2014. Dine Well this
week!
