MELANIE & AUNT ROSA Aqui- Ahora - Agora - VENGA AQUI : pronto - 3:30-6:30PM : Everyone welcome, as always, as is our custom. WE LOVE - nosotros queremos Melanie e tia Rosa para MACCHU PISCO . We are making Passion Fruit Pisco Sours that are really amazing, so decadent, so thick/esposo - so deliciously decadent/decadent-DENT-IN-DELICIOUS, delectable, deliriously-THE PAASIOn you cannot PASS ON, You Cannot Skip, except SKIP here to taste NOW - AGORA con Tia Rosa e Melanie Asher, owner with her sister Lizzie! Wow, Quadruple WOWWWWWW Winnin WIN-DIXIE WOW! TONYToday's entry in the La Diablada Become Shaman bartender contest is Seth Raymor of Corazon del Mar Nantucket Island. His cocktail is El Peruano Puro, made with La Diablada, citrus mix, cocoa and bitters.

A young lady just rushed in and said a bit breathlessly : " You just had two ladies tasting some Peruvian Pisco and I would like to buy a bottle. " I smiled as I walked up to our wall and reached for the bottle of the MACCHU PISCO, the last bottle left in stock, took it and handed it to the young lady. She walked quickly to the pay and I had an idea, called out to her : " What's your name? " She quickly responded : " Lynne ". I asked : " Lynne with an 'e' and two ' n's "? She said : " Yes ". I smiled and said that I would not forget that name as it is a dear one to me. Ask me here in the store and I will tell you why? ANYWAY, I mentioned to Lynne that both Tia/ Aunt Rosa and owner-founder with her sister, Melanie Asher did a great job making these incredible PASSION FRUIT Peruvian Pisco Sours that were light and bright and airy and so creamy and easy on the palate, less sweet, less heavy than many. There was a real silky and velvet texture to this creamy-cloudy-white froth and flesh of the  " mixed-grape-not-stirred " - that's my line, " blended into the immediate fabric of each of our palates-tapestries so to speak- liquid expressions and stories : wonderful. The " slight high " I got almost immediately on first sip was milder and gentler than I remember : perhaps the best ever for me. I liked it, I shared my glass with customers Jae and Bonnie as it is hard for me to drink much of this on the job : too seductive, too decadent, too easy, to pleasurable. Gracias Tia Rosa e Melanie : you both are the very best, and together we all did a great job today promoting your MACCHU PISCO, both the regular and the " La Diablada " that we sell here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits on a regular basis. We were one of your first stores. You both said that you enjoyed coming to taste here with our customers. This must be the sixth time or so? We love having you here. And Tia Rosa you taught me something, you said that in Peru you make your Pisco Sours drier than we make them here. Thanks for that info. Cheers, happy weekend all. We have the " La Diablada " here for you all and do not close until 9:30PM tonight, it's only 7:59PM - come on by quick! Take care,  TONY

AND NOW .... After Today's In-Store MACCHU PISCO Passion-Fruit Tasting : ...
I have known both Melanie and her Aunt Rosa now for years, even met her sister Lizzie that came once or perhaps twice to the store for our tastings and on this evening, perhaps even more than on others - or late afternoon I should really say, the two ladies weaved magic from the air around them in the rectangular box that is Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits where so many wonderful things have taken place. They are like dear family just like you, too are becoming : one BIG, dear family with so many wonderful and spontaneous things happening, people being introduced, people mingling, people wandering up-and-down our aisles, people being asked if they would like help, their items in their hands from our shelves and stacks being commented on " " Yes, that's really good- bone dry, ... that Peruvian Pisco in your hands is made from the most famous indigenous grape in Peru, no, I cannot remember it's name, but it makes the very best Pisco ...   OR : that Valdiguie red is PERFECT for drinking in this hot and humid and sometimes clammy weather of ours, chill it for thirty minutes, deep red - SO fruit-forward this vintage, perhaps their best . Yeah, our local rep for J.LOHR thinks it may indeed be their BEST Valdiguie red ever. I rend to agree . " Conversations abounding, movement and excitement and talking running loosely and connectively through the rectangular space as it fills and shifts and people gather and hover sometimes, other times flow quickly up-and-back with places to be, sadly, other than ours. Cheers, thanks Melanie, Oscar Losama that tasted his FABulous Voila Collection French 4 country wines - an incredible dry Vouvray, a dry 3-grape Entre-Deux-Mers white Bordeaux, $13.99,  a ORIGINAL Limoux dry Malbec from France, and a dry rose Cotes-Du-Rhone DOMAINE De La SOLITUDE southern Rhone wine made by a very famous Chateauneuf-Du-Pape producer! And thanks, too Ashleigh for stopping by and keeping in touch. We'll order more wine including my very favorite J. LOHR Valdiguie fruit-forward, toasty, fleshy, floral, fragrant red from California's Monterey region. Cheers and thanks to you all! You are all the best! TONY  8/10/13 @ 10:35PM now at home and winding down for the evening...
