Saturday, July 7th, 2012 : Cheers! Calypso Organic/ Free Trade/ Vegan / Biodynamic Selections Offered Something Really Special In Wine Selections Here In Washington D.C. Thanks!

I am sad that Calypso Imports of fine organic/ biodynamic/ vegan / free trade wine selections went out of business in 2011 I believe? They did a great job providing the Washington D.C. market place with fine wine selections from counties like France ( Bordeaux, Loire Valley,), Italy ( Veneto, Naples and more ), Chile, Argentina and more. I cannot remember the list at this point. Sorry. This is more a blog thanking them for all their hard work.
The two owners pictured tasting with their brunette salesperson above employed some very good people and it was always a pleasure to meet and taste with them. Here they visited Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel : 202-363-4265, on Facebook at : Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits, on Twitter at : cpwinespirits ) and we appreciated that.
My first service call from the company followed a phone call or two from Brett Chappel that used to sell to us from other companies. he came by to see us with a list and some wines and we started with some of his French wines which included an excellent Muscadet and some white and red Bordeaux wine selections. Thanks Brett. Hope you are well, call sometime and let me know what you are up to now. Cheers and happy holidays to you and to your family this December 2012!
We bought these wines on-and-off depending on our needs and who was either calling on us or bringing the right wines to sample with us at the right times. So much of sales is all about timing! That's a fact. If we needed it and had a space for it on our shelves, and the price was acceptable, and we had money in the budget to buy it, by gosh then we would buy it! Simple as that!! Of course we would also have to think that the wine was in the bottle. That goes without saying.

Pictured above are the wines from South America that we were tasting that represented great value and were organic and also Free-Trade. We loved all of that! I remember that the red blend Shiraz was it was a great wine for the money : everyone loved it. Too bad it is not available now. It was a great addition to our store.
Oops, you have to go two pictures up to see the right picture for the paragraph that follows. Sorry! Pictured here are the two owners, husband and wife. Pictured two pictures above from left to right : the brunette sales rep from Calypso to Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits, our customer and then the husband-and-wife owners that devoted so much time and energy into making this venture and business all that it could possibly be. Thank you from all of us. Cheers, happy holidays to you and to your families this 2012!

Pictured above is the owner speaking with Jim Stutsman that is a regular customer of ours, a wine lover and a great supporter of all the wines made all over the United States, no matter where as long as the wine is good. He's been a champion like that for the lesser-known wine states for as long as I have known him , and that's almost thirty years now. Thanks Jim, you are the very best, a true asset to the wine world, and a true friend as well.

I posted these pictures in their download form on Saturday July 7th, 2012 and am including this text now on Tuesday morning, December 11th, 2012 before heading off to work to sell more excellent organic, biodynamic, vegan and free trade wine from other importers, sadly not from Calypso imports. I wish them all well, hope they all enjoy a good holiday season 2012 with family and friends and drink some good wines like these, too. It was a good run with some good memories and they all deserve a lot of praise and thanks for all of their hard efforts. We sold a lot of these wines at this in-store wine-tasting at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits going all the way back to 2009 was it? It's bee awhile, even though the pictures are so fresh and look like yesterday! Cheers, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn
