Here In Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits JUNO South African Reds, Whites & Rose Dry Wines 2010-2011

This picture was taken through my Reidel Austrian wine-tasting glass in 201 sometime I believe?

This was another fun and serendipitous wine-tasting for me with Richard that used to work with Siema Imports and the national sales rep for these intriguing family-made ( husband and wife : the wife is the artist that paints and these are her paintings and labels - and the husband is the wine-maker/owner I believe? ) wines of South Africa. I really liked the concept and the evocative and sensual art-work/paintings/labels that cannot fail to ignite if nothing else the imagination and the libido of males and women alike with the striking colors of the Equator and ripeness and light and luminosity and warmth everywhere - even into the darkness and lateness ( or earliness, depending on one's vantage or point-of-view ). Vibrant and immediate.

I will have to find my notes as these wines and their labels ( as well as the stories attached with both ) appealed to me and yet I also had questions and concerns with both. What were they? I cannot rightly recollect as now as it has perhaps been a year or longer since I tasted them and I will have to delve back into the past and find my info and talk to Richard and wonder back in the far-reaches of my brain as to why there has never been any follow-up on this first tasting at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( ) with the national sales rep/ or anyone from Siema for that matter? Perhaps Andrew Stover is unaware of this first wine-tasting and I will have to ask him about this as he is giving our store really great service with many of his own wines that he sells through Siema as well as with their many fine Italian wines like the dry Vernatch red ( Schiava ) and the Rucche Piemontese red and others, too? Tell me the current story of these wines Andrew?

I should have never taken so long to write about these wines from South Africa. That is partly my fault and I am sorry for it as I am curious about these wines ( dry reds, whites and an off-dry rose was it )? Fill me in Andrew.

I took many pictures of these wines, their colors, the labels, etcetera and I will slowly down-load them here onto this blog. In the meantime I will finish this entry enough to publish/post it tomorrow and have it available as a starting-point for some of you out there curious about them or already familiar with them.

It's Monday, May 23rd, 2011 and I am off now and have some errrands to run. I will post this now and add to it soon. I know I will be going out soon to buy the " new " Lady Ga Ga album with my son with the hit song : " Baby, I Was Born This Way ". Cheers, TONY
