MANOIR DU CARRA Beaujolias-Villages Nouveau Thursday, Nov. 18th, 2010 ( First Official Day Of Release )@ Cleveland Park Wines,Wash. D.C. Noon

Thursday, November 18th, 2010 was important in Washington D.C. I am sure for many , many reasons, politics included, budgets and budget-cuts, spending, Democrats versus Republicans, etcetera and yet for me there were tow major events taking place : the official first-day release of France's Beaujolais Nouveau made in southern Burgundy with fermented-and-bottled-immediately-after 100% Gamay grapes ( fermentation having started with carbonic maceration ), and the release of the First Part of the Two-Part movie on the last Harry Potter novel. These were two big events and I was very much aware of both.

Pictured above is one of our enterprising and very attractive " new " customers that is sampling a bottle of the 2010 MANOIR DU CARRA Beaujolais-Villages( $10.99 ) bottles that is typically our most successful Beaujolais Nouveau offerings. We still have a few bottles of it at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel:202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com, www.clevelandparkwine.com , and on Facebook at : clevelandparkwine&spirits, too ) as well as some of the MANOIR DU CARRA Beaujolais Nouveau at $9.99 a bottle.

Our brunette young lady customer came to Cleveland Park Wines in search of the just-released Beaujolais Nouveau as I was talking with our Republic-National distributor rep Matt that was about to taste me on some current releases of KENDALL JACKSON California wines : Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon I believe. I will post a separate blog about that shortly as soon as time permits.

The three of us got to talking and I opened three of our Beaujolai Nouveau wines ( that also included the BOUCHARD ANNEE PERE ET FILS that was the easiest to drink - fruit-forward and the least-complicated.

Look at that beautiful color of the young, youthful Gamay grape! Amazing : and with the backdrop of the beautiful brunette what more could you want?!?

Ahhh, the Harry Potter movie across the street from the store on Connecticut Avenue and people already lining up to see the movie later at midnight for the first showing ; waiting hours and hours before just to be the first inside the Uptown Theater's doors! What's the point? Who will ever notice or care or remember? Perhaps that's not the point, perhaps it's just a personal accomplishment and that's enough? My son and his friends already had tickets that I purchased for the eight-o'clock showing on Friday night.

This MANOIR DU CARRA 2010 Beaujolais-Villages had the most elegance and refinement and was an utter delight to enjoy slightly chilled as it was.

The MANOIR DU CARRA 2010 Beaujolais Nouveau ( $9.99 ) was a bit thicker, darker, more hearty and rustic and will be great with many foods to help flesh out the flavors and make the wine just a bit less sharp and tangy. Bot are great Thanksgiving and holiday wines that we will be preparing all through December and into 2011, too.

The GEORGE DUBOUEF Beaujolais Nouveau ( $9.99 ) was not delivered to us until Friday and so we opened it a day late. Oh well, that's okay. I have already blogged about it here.

Our young brunette customer and I get to talking and I remind her that I met her when owner Kate Klugston of the GOTHAM ( Three Men Of Gotham, too ) Aussie South Australia ( and Puppeteer sparkling wine ) was tasting her wines on a weekend. They compared their tattoos and chatted then. She remembered. I have also already blogged about that and included their pictures showing and comparing their arm tattoos. Check that out here in early 2010 at : chatwine.blogspot.com.

It sure was a fun tasting and the young brunette stayed and joined us to taste the KENDAL JACKSON California " current " releases that Matt had brought along for me to taste.

Cheers and come to the store to buy some of the MANOIR DU CARRA, BOUCHARD ANNEE and GEORGE DUBOUEF Beaujolais Nouveau to enjoy this holiday season of 2010. Cheers, TONY

Liz, it was great to see you in the store this past Saturday, March 5th, 2100 with Drew as we said " bye-bye " to Chris Barker and " hello - welcome " to Greg Siebert from Rochester, New York.
It was also great to share the wines we had open from France and Spain ( La Mancha - Ester's wines, the Merlot-Tempranillo and the Tempranillo, too ) - as well as the bottle of Bollinger champagne N.V. brut that was also a work of art all by itself.

I love these pictures that I captured of you while swirling the 2011 Manoir Du Carra Beaujolais-Villages nouveau - look at the color - look at you : both glorious! Cheers ... it's a beautiful day today after a rainfall of cats and dogs last night and I'm out now with my dog to cut back our winter's dead ornamental grass and trim the butterfly bushes, etcetea while it is nice and sunny and bright and windy and blue-skied - magnificent now on my day-off ...

I love this tattoo of your Phoenix above : it's beautiful : thanks for sharing.

I am sure I have more to say and may include that later here. In the meantime enjoy this as-is. A la prochaine mes amis, TONY
