FLYING DOG India Pal Ale/ Winter Ale Tasting Friday Night, Nov. 12th, 2010 ( 5-8PM ) @ Cleveland Park Beers, Liquors & Wines In Washington D.C.

This was another successful beer-tasting at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel:202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com on Facebook @ clevelandparkwine&spirits ) this past Friday evening from 5-8 PM here in N.W. Washington D.C.

We tasted two of the FLYING DOG selections : the Snake Dog India Pale Ale and the k-9 Winter Ale. I got to try them. too towards the end of the tasting as we were busy and there was quite a lot going on with Ronnie Miller of the Robert Kacher portfolio selection tasting some great wines including the " Vegan-Friendly " DOMAINE DU TARIQUET Cotes Du Gascogne southwest French blend of Sauvignon Blanc-Chardonnay ( $12.99 ). All the TARIQUET dry whites are " Vegan-Friendly " and that's a great thing, The " V " symbol is right on the back on the back label clearly marked. We also tried Herve Ganthier's " Reserve " dry red Corbieres from his DOMAINE SAINT EUGENIE. There were more wines, of course as well as Lesley's WILD TURKEY American Honey liqueur. So you see we had the whole store abuzz with activity and interest for these three hours and more. That's good : that's good and healthy business especially in these trying and difficult economic times.

As usual the FLYING DOG selections were a big hit and they sold quite well up there in the front of the store by our cash register and where many of our fine hand-crafted, small-batch beers, ales, lagers, etcetera are all prominently displayed.

Both the " Snake Dog " IPA and the k-9 Winter Ale from FLYING DOG were too hoppy and malty and flavorful for me to sip all on their own. For me they needed some food to accompany them. That's just me of course.

I think, however that with a meal that I would have enjoyed them much more. I do love the labels and the art and the bold colors and I think that all this reflects the very up-front/assertive flavors of these two selections. Bravo! Being an artist I pick up on these kinds of things.

Many of our customers worked their way through all three tastings and tried some of them all. It's a good opportunity to taste before you buy and also to have tasted before you buy when you need one of these selections. Even if you do not buy now at least you know about them for when you do need or want something in these categories. That's why we hold these weekly weekend tastings and why everyone is always welcome to taste and try on for size, fit and feel any of these selections that we offer regularly - always changing of course so as to include more and to never be boring.

Enjoy these pictures and come and check some FLYING DOG out here at Cleveland Park Wines and Spirits and Beers next time that you are in our fabulous neighborhood. Cheers, TONY
