New Store Front Window ( HIGH NOTE, CLEAN SLATE, ROOT:1 ) &Kelly Tastes 2007 EDNA VALLEY, CA. Pinot Noir, Wed. July 7th, 2010 In Cleveland Park,NW.DC

This was a fun way to start the morning with our local reps Jody Jackman of Winebow Imports and Kelly of Pinnacle House/Washington Wholesalers.

Jody was finishing up her work on our store front wine window featuring the wines of HIGH NOTE " Elevated " 2008, Malbec from the Uco Valley of Mendoza ( $10.99), the CLEAN SLATE 2009 Mosel, German Riesling ( $11.99, " fresh peach, crisp lime, and subtle mineral flavors " ) , and the ROOT:1 ( original, ungrafted Colchagua Valley, Chilean 2008 ) Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2008 Carmenere ( both dry reds, both $11.99 a bottle ).

Kelly our new rep for the Pinnacle House of Washington Wholesalers was here to taste another bottle of the 2007 CA. EDNA VALLEY Pinot Noir that I found flawed the last time I tasted it with Eric Platt and Kelly. I asked for another sample and they had to it to me within a week. It tasted like it should this Wednesday morning on July 7th, 2010 here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel: 202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com ). It was a lovely cross of old-world style with modern technology. It tasted of it's age : earthy, a bit spicy, the fruit well-integrated with the wood: medium-bodied and a delight to enjoy with a meal. It's really not a sipping wine. I took it home and enjoyed it last night ( Thurs, July 8th, 2010 ) with my meal and as I listened later to my ipod. Very nice. It was even better : fuller, richer, deeper, more extracted and open than the day before. We will buy it and sell it here in Cleveland Park in August.

Jody Jackman did us a warm-weather scene for these hot and often humid summer days here in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Here it was still in progress as I snapped these pictures while sampling the EDNA VALLEY Pinot Noir 2007.

Of these three wines of Jody's : HIGH NOTE/ CLEAN SLATE and ROOT:1 we sell them really well, especially the HIGH NOTE that is a huge favorite. However, having said this the other two  CLEAN SLATE and ROOT:1 are no slouches. They also sell really well and we are often out of them soon after they arrive here in the store getting us to call Jody and ask her to send more. Jody has done her part to make them the success that they are here as they are often included in her in-store/wine-tastings here on Friday evening with our customers from 5-8 PM.

Come check these three wines out now as they are all in stock now, Friday, July 9th, 2010.

Stay-tuned for more on this delightful EDNA VALLEY 2007 Pinot Noir that will be here shortly. They make good, balanced wines at EDNA VALLEY. Over the last 2-3 years I have been quite pleased with what I have tasted and they have sold well, too.

Enjoy these artsy pictures that I like to take with my artist's eyes. I want to stimulate you and your curiosity to come here in search of these four wines. If you can't stop by here at least go to your local wine merchant and store and ask for them. You won't be sorry.

Thanks Jody for your help doing this store-front wine window display for us in the heat and humidity of July here in our nation's capitol. It sure does look nice. Let's get the grill going, grill some vegetables and meats and have a feast with these three wines of yours : HIGH NOTE, CLEAN SLATE & ROOT:1. What a fun time that would be.

The last game of the World Cup Soccer game just outside Cape Town in South Africa between Holland and Spain is this Sunday. You might want some of these wines to celebrate and to root for your favorite team to win?!?

     Cheers,   TONY
