Bonarda 2008 CASABELLA, Valtidone Near Piancenza, Emilia Romagna Sparkling Fruity Red Tasted By Mike Dee & Filippo Sat. July17th, 2010, Cleveland Park

Filippo pours some of this really exciting Bonarda for our customers to try. We sold lots on this evening and here to prove that are many of them sporting their bottles in the store and up by the register as well.

I continued to taste and to sell it well into this Saturday evening as the evening came to a close. People would stop by and I was cleaning up our office and getting ready to go home and I would see them looking at out Italian wines and I could not resist saying : " Would you like to try the slightly dry and spicy sparkling Bonarda that I have open from Italy?" The response was wonder at what a Bonarda was but almost always " yes " as their curiosity was aroused.

I really like this Bonarda and I need to order more from you Mike. I think I already have and that it is coming back now that it is September 1st ( Wednesday evening here at home at 11:43 PM here in northern Virginia ), 2010. All these customers will be pleased with this news and many have already returned for more.

I like that we got so many of our customers to discover a " new " grape varietal and that so many of them liked both it and the price. We are teaching and educating our customers and it's a whole lot of " one-on-one " and it pays off " one-on-one " as they do the same with their friends and so that " one-on-one " becomes " two-on-two " and builds to " four-on-for " and on from there : our very own productive/constructive pyramid scheme.

This was a great tasting with Mike Dee of FP Winner and Filippo tasting and selling all but one bottle of the slightly sparkling fruity indigenous Bonarda, from CASABELLA in Valtidone, near Piacenza( airport there, dropped my daughter off there last week of October, 2009 - we must have been pretty close to CASABELLA ) in north -western Emilia Romagna. We sell it for $13.49 and as you will see from all these pictures that a wide range of customers enjoyed it here this past Saturday as they went off to parties where sometimes a barbecue was involved. Thanks Mike and Filippo.

What wonderful smiles / what wonderful happy people all here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel ( 202) 363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwine.com , www.clevelandparkwine.com ).

This was towards our closing time and yet there were more contented customers walking out into the evening with gifts to themselves and to their friends of this delightful slightly sparkling, dry and spicy, bit earthy, too Italian red made from the indigenous grape variety Bonarda that is now also found in many red wines of Argentina.

Cheers and come see us and ask for some of this colorful/playful/engaging and uplifting Italian CASABELLA Valtidone northern Bonarda. A presto e caio, TONY
