The Grateful Palate ( Permutations, Evil, Trevor Jones, M. P. ) Visits Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits In Washington D.C. June 2009 With Arielle Monaco

Trevor Jones is quite the character : a one-man operation that wears those boots of his all the time and makes some really distinctive wines. I've always really liked his Virgin Chardonnay. Trevor has been here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel : 202-363-4265 www.clevelandparkwine.com sales@clevelandparkwine.com ) twice and each time we've had a wonderful visit and tried some excellent wines including his 375ml port-style wines made from the Tocai grape as well as others. We still have a few bottles here at under $60 each.

We have sold an assortment of these and will have to reorder the Permutations 2008 ( every label is slightly different in each case of 12 bottles even though it is the same wine, so don't panic : just relax and enjoy the creativity while you enjoy the excellence of the Pinot Noir. It should be slightly chilled twenty minutes or so to bring out more of the richness and the energy of the flavors that respond to the chill just as strings on a guitar respond to the person playing it. Victoria Pinot Noir from South Australia ( $15 ) which has got a number of fans already in the brief time that it has been here.

Arielle Monaco came and poured these wines for us the other weekend here for our customers.
and we basically sold out of the EVIL Cabernet Sauvignon and the EVIL Chardonnay. It was a fun, well-attended tasting with people responding positively to both wine and label and then value in pricing.

The Marquis Phillips 2007 Sarah's Blend red is really quite impressive with both good flavors and structure. It's a serious contender to enjoy with a meal. Chill it slightly and enjoy it with anything fresh off your grill.

Enjoy these photos of the EVIL and the PERMUTATIONS and the MARQUIS PHILLIPS - all from Australia, all with great packaging and that represent great values, too! Cheers. TONY
