Doug Fabbioli Of FABBIOLI Cellars Here Tasting Fri.5-8 PM May 8th, 2009, W/ Devon & CANTON Ginger

This was quite the energetic Friday tasting here with both owner/winemaker Doug Fabbioli of FABBIOLI CELLARS ( www.fabbioliwines.com tasting the Loudon County , Leesburg, Chambourcin red, 2007 ( $18.49 ), Doug's red Bordeaux blend, his Raspberry/Merlot 500ml ( $26.49 ) off-dry red and his " new " 500ml Loudoun County " Rosa Nera " blend of Tannat and other grapes ( 65% ) and 35% black raspberry. He made this last one for the guys to drink while smoking a cigar and the women liked it just as much this evening at the tasting as the men did! We will have it shortly here for sale with the other three, especially the red Bordeaux blend that sold-out immediately at the tasting!

Devon's uncle promotes the DOMAINE DE CANTON French ginger liqueur ( with VSOP cognac , domainedecanton.com ) here in this Washington D.C. metropolitan area and so she knows the product really well. It's our third tasting of it here and each time it pretty much sell-out during the tasting.

It was great to have both Doug here signing his bottles and explaining the whole process : as well as Devon here pouring for all our customers happy to start their weekend in such an agreeable way here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W Washington D.C. 20008 sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com 202-363-4265).

I will write more time permitting. It was lots of fun : we sold lots and I think people really learned quite a bit as well.

Cheers, TONY
