October 2008 - VA Wine Month! Also : NBC4 Special On Politically- Correct Gifts 12/1/06 /JEFFERSON VINEYARD, Charlottesville, VA. Wines

Here are some pictures that I took while Megan McGrath withNBC4 was here in our store on December 1st, 2006 shooting some footage for their " Holiday Gift/Politically-Correct Gifts " special. They came specifically to talk to me about the wines of Thomas Jefferson from his original property/vineyard that is still appropriately-named JEFFERSON VINEYARDS. She had contacted JEFFERSON VINEYARDS and learned that we carry the wines at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 202-363-4265 / sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com ). Megan called me and I told her I had some of the 2005 Chardonnay but was out of the Viognier.

We made plans for her to come by because she needed to take some pictures of the bottle(s) and of me speaking about Thomas Jefferson and Virginia wines. The quality is high indeed at the JEFFERSON VINEYARDS and we are really pleased to have them to offer our customers wishing to try local and really good wines all at once..

October is Virginia wine month in Virginia and we at Cleveland Park are promoting them actively always, especially now with the holidays and Thanksgiving right around the corner. We have just purchased more JEFFERSON VINEYARDS wines for the store to arrive November 2nd, 2008. I'm especially looking forward to our old-red-favorite with the bright red rooster painted on the label by the owner himself! It's such a delight and not very expensive ( under $20 ) and a perfect holiday/ all-purpose red. We also have a magnum or two still of the fabulous 2005 red " Meritage " signed by the owner as a special gift.

We also offer the wines currently of WHITE HALL VINEYARDS , INGLESIDE VINEYARDS, RAPPAHANOCK VINEYARDS, LINDEN VINEYARDS, KLUGE, Claude-Thibaut's 2nd-release VA. bubbly called JANISSON-THIBAUT ( arriving in the store today, Wednesday Oct. 29th, 2008 )PERMUND VINEYARDS, STONE MOUNTAIN and many more.

On Wednesday, November 12th we will host our monthly " Big-Theme " Wine-Tasting on American wines, especially featuring those of Virginia and Maryland and having as our guests their owners and or their winemakers or both. This will be quite the " special " event from 5:30- 8:30 PM. Please join us. Bring a friend : everyone is welcome ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue Wines & Spirits, Washington D.C. N.W. Call Mike Martin or me ( Tony Quinn ) for more information at 202-363-4265.

I took some pictures of Megan McGrath and of her cameraman before they left our store almost three years ago. How time flies! Here is what Megan wrote in our guest book :

" Thanks for your help! Great store. I'll be back! " Megan McGrath NBC4.

The special on these " politically-correct gifts aired a week or so earlier on a Friday morning, early I believe. I got up to see it : a few brief seconds - fun. Cheers Megan, come again soon! TONY
Cheers, TONY
