The same evening that Antoine Songy came in to taste his selection of Robert Selections French wines ( Friday, June 13th, 2008 , 5-8 PM ) we had two lovely young ladies come to taste both the KNOB CREEK ( for more technical info go to : www.knobcreek.com )Kentucky straight bourbon ( ON SALE here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits, 2334 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington D.C. ( 202) 363-4265 www.clevelandparkwine.com ) , and the various " new " Smirnoff ( for recipes and more info go to: www.smirnoff.com, DIAGEO 1-866-548-1544 ) flavored vodkas ( Cranberry, Watermelon, Strawberry, Orange, Citrus and more ). It was a really fun evening here in the store and people stopped and tasted and tried these various wine and spirit flavors on for size.
I've already written about both the Williamsburg, VA. Beer Werks tasting as well as Antoine Songy's tasting here in previous blogs in June. I , however, was remiss in not including a mention of these spirits tastings as well. I think they are a valuable service in that they give our customers a taste of products that they might enjoy and have not as yet discovered. We do this here every Friday and Saturday and there are always some fun surprises/revelations/chance encounters/meetings and that is all good. We have tasted them here on several occasions. These are two really hot categories and lots of our customers are enjoying both bourbon and vodka. So here's to keeping up with the trends and the times. As I was downloading the pictures I noticed on the Smirnoff table bottles of Lime and Vanilla as well as of the CAPTAIN MORGAN( www.captainmorgan.com for more info, founded 1795 ) Puerto Rican spiced Rum and JOSE CUERVO ( www.cuervo.com for more info ) tequila that we must have tasted as well. Oops, I forgot! Ravi Sharma buys the spirits here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits. He's featured here at the end of the tasting with the two young lady tasters. All these products do really well here at the store. Tasting them just reinforces their continued strong sales here. Cheers, TONY
