It was great to see Rick once again. I have known Rick now for forever it seems and he and I have been in the wine business here in Washington D.C. for more years now than I would care to share with you all. Rick brought us Lindemans years ago that he represented one time at Central Liquors when he worked there.

For more information contact Rick at : DeLauderR@msn.com. He can fill in the blanks. This go-round I loved the STEEPLE JACK ( $9-$10 ) Cabernet Sauvignon and the Chardonnay. They were both so fruit-forward ( not sweet or cloying ) and balanced and bright. I also liked the Shiraz and the Merlot but felt that they would be better suited with foods whereas the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Chardonnay I could see drinking on their own. We will also buy the BALLASTONE Shiraz ( $16.49 ) and may buy the excellent Grenache, too. Stay-tuned for more exciting news from these two fine ventures. Both have already sold well here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits and we will see what happens with these new releases. It should all be good.
Rick and I have paid a lot of our dues here in the Nation's capitol and it is good to have his wines here. I am sure Rick will be in the store sometime soon to taste them with you. It's amazing as over the years we together have witnessed and been a part of all the changes and growth in the wine business which has exploded into such a grand business like never before. We celebrate the good in that but still like a good bottle of well-made/balanced wine to enjoy with or without all the hoopla. Cheers, TONY
